Yeah, I would tell you to play along unless you absolutely can't take that... and if you can't I get it, trust me. I played along for a couple years as a teenager in a fundamentalist Baptist church until I gradually let my family know that I didn't believe anymore. Got into some pretty heated arguments, people worrying about my eternal salvation and that kind of thing. But Baptists don't shun, so I don't know what would happen in your circumstances. Find outlets, find privacy, find ways to express yourself. That's the best way to survive until you get to college... and make sure you dorm, do not live at home.

They Want More Money!
by Atlantis inthose wanting a copy of this file.
https://docdro.id/fllorzffile example:4. circuit overseer assistance arrangement: in harmony with the announcement to the congregation, please arrange for a resolution to be put to the congregation, authorising payment from congregation funds equivalent to £4.50/€5.00 per congregation publisher for the 2019 service year.
if the body of elders believes the suggested amount would impose a hardship on the congregation, the resolved amount can be adjusted accordingly.. .

Why should a congregation take on that responsibility? COs work for the Governing Body, they should pay for their services.
And thanks for the document my friend

Holy Spirit - Present or Gone in the Congregations?
by BourneIdentity ini was doing some reminiscing and remember the days back in the late 80s and early 90s where i truly could say the meetings were so encouraging and that i felt the holy spirit present and operating on all of us.
today when i attend, there is nothing of the sort.
is it because jehovah has withheld it?

It doesn’t make Sense
by HappyBlessedFree inso my husband and i had a long conversation last night about why i no longer believe.
this is our 10th conversation about all the same things which we have been talking about for the last four months.. he says “you have let yourself be deceived”.
i try my best to show him my sincerity in my motives.

Honestly, it might not come down to what the guy believes, it might come down to how those beliefs makes him feel. You might talk theology but he's thinking emotion, pride, intellectual prowess, that kinda thing.

How do you know thats the holy spirit Nambo? You're letting the context interpret the experience for you. If you went to a Hindu temple and felt good did you experience the presence of Shiva? If you went out into the woods and felt good did you experience the presence of Pan? I've been to many a religious service and sometimes I feel good but that proves nothing about any kind of spirit in-dwelling the place.
And Finkelstein, why assume Satan takes any part in the decisions made by past or present leadership? They found an easy way to trick gullible people into giving them money, constructing their buildings, getting their name out into the public, etc. That's all it takes, that's the only explanation necessary. Why invoke some supernatural being?

What holy spirit? What you're describing sociologists call emotional energy, any kind of successful interaction produces that feeling at varying intensities, anywhere from mild contentment to goosebumps coursing down your spine.

Let's not blow this out of proportion guys. I agree, he comes across as sketchy in the video, and yes, his taste in alcohol sure seems pretty worldly and clashes with what he tells the faithful about 'keeping their eye simple.'. But just because the dude wants to drink some fancy liquor doesn't make him guilty of anything else.
