They ought to be prosecuted, I agree with you. It's bullshit if people are destroying someone else's property without being held accountable.

Why Do People Loot and Destroy When Someone Gets Shot?
by minimus insomeone gets shot and or killed and hundreds of people decide to loot and destroy businesses or whatever else is in their path.
what does this do to make things better?
i really don’t get how they think it makes things better or solves anything..

No need to make this personal man ("I don't know what's wrong with you"). We're just having a conversation, and I usually appreciate your perspective. I still do. Let's leave it at that.
The damage is done no matter what, we're on the same page about that. I'm not arguing for clemency.

I stand by what I said. I think people are more complicated then they've been cast in this thread. I'm not excusing looting or violence after a shooting. I'm only trying to say we can't paint rioters with a broad brush. That's all. Their motivations are probably more complex, which does not change the damage they do.

People get angry and they don't know how else to express it. That's my interpretation of why people sometimes loot after a minority is shot.
Is it a great outlet for anger? No, it accomplishes nothing. Does it make sense? Yeah, unfortunately. They probably want to go after whoever shot another minority in cold blood and can't.

It's all fluffy nonsense, I'm with you. And "Don't demand respect, earn it," is pretty rich coming from the Governing Body. -

That may be the case at the congregation you know. I saw that in one elder at a congregation I studied.

Thats one thing they said. A guy helping a woman doesn't negate the other things they published encouraging female submission.

That was not my experience studying Jehovah's Witnesses, which is what I'm going off. At the congregations I studied, men spoke up about as much as women spoke up in Watchtower Studies. Yes, the Governing Body wants men who submit to them, to the elders, to the Circuit Overseer, but not to their wives.
They put out a brochure a couple years ago called Your Family Can Be Happy (2014?). The first principle of family happiness is a quote from Ephesians, The husband is the head of the wife, or something like that. That's their definition of family happiness. That doesn't leave much room for dominant women. That doesn't leave much room for women who command their husbands. That's not what the Governing Body wants, at all.

I mean... a guy should share the house work, it's not submissive, it's nice. That said, the usual approach to headship is female subservience. Let's be real, that's what wives are told to be: subservient. They are encouraged to be submissive and in subjection to men. That's from The Bible Teach book.
I don't want to get on a high horse about that but... The Governing Body does not want submissive men. They want men who will completely dominate their wives.
