Clap for the Carers (or Don't it's Forbidden)
by Slidin Fast inso, in the uk, during the early stages of covid there was a groundswell of appreciation for the nhs for their front-line sacrifice.
this was crystallised into a regular clapping/whistling/noise making session every thursday at 8pm.. "harmless" you would have thought, "a gesture of appreciation", "what could possibly be wrong with joining in on that innocent activity?".
well, the co during his recent rounds had a different view.

Differences between Christians and Jehovah’s Witnesses
by Badfish inchristians are saved by grace alone though faith alone in christ alone to the glory of god alone.. jws are “saved” by their faith in the men in brooklyn, ny through their works (number of hours spent in field service, record of meeting attendance, and moral excellence or law-keeping (not breaking the long list of rules made by those men in brooklyn).. christians believe that jesus is capable of paying for the sins of mankind because he is god manifest in the flesh.
christians believe that the temple of jesus’ body was torn down and raised again on the third day, thus fulfilling the scriptures.. jws, on the other hand, believe that jesus is the created being, michael the archangel, manifest in the flesh, and that although he became a man and underwent physical death, he was not physically raised from the dead.. christians read jesus’ words: “truly, truly, i say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.“ therefore, christians partake in communion.. jws, on the other hand, have a yearly ritual ceremony in which they publicly reject communion.
they make a public spectacle of refusing the new covenant.. christians believe that salvation is monergistic - that god works through the holy spirit to bring about the salvation of an individual through spiritual regeneration, regardless of the individual's cooperation.

Oh for Christ's sake, Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be Christians, they talk about Jesus and God, do we really need to do this comparative thing? Most to all of us can agree that their teachings and practices are problematic without calling them non-Christians when they evidently are.

Article: Passing the Time By Firing Back at Jehovah’s Witnesses — With Letters
by AndersonsInfo inhttps://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/arts/under-the-sun-why-a-local-woman-wants-to-nail-the-jehovahs-witnesses-11545704.
kayleigh had run out of postage stamps and was waiting for new ones to arrive.
it was slowing her assault on a local congregation of jehovah’s witnesses.. she pointed to a stack of letters she’d already written to what she liked to call “the jws.”.

It probably won't have any effect, but I like that she's making the effort. If JWs get to send letters, so does she.

What Do Today’s Jehovah’s Witnesses Really Think?
by minimus inwhen i was a witness i knew what my beliefs were and could defend my views, even if it really was wrong.
i understood jw doctrines .
i could define what the faithful and discreet slave was.

Like they say, "Be as wise as serpents, and innocent as doves." That's their go to verse for theocratic warfare, right?
Clever, deceitful but clever.

What Do You Think of Dr. Fauci?

what’s your opinion of him right now?.

Brock Talon, you raise the point of scolding and I think it's apt. I'm sick of people telling me not to live my life during COVID times. I get to do that. I've refused to distance myself from family members, and I don't wear a mask unless I have to (work, public transport, etc.). If "guidance" means orders we all have to follow, Fauci and doctors like him should say that, should be honest about the fact that they're ordering the rest of us around. I swear they remind me of the Governing Body sometimes, who hides their orders under terms like "counsel."

They're told not to think, right? Maybe a better question is what do Jehovah's Witnesses parrot (your question is valid, minimus, I'm just rewording it). In my experience JWs know a lot of verses and can talk about "spiritual things" at length, but those "spiritual things" always amount to or go back to the Governing Body's teachings. They don't always say that or present that when they talk about their faith, but that's the reality of it.

Daily text 15.4.21 Unbelievable hypocrisy. Don't be the master of another's faith
by Diogenesister inyoutuber "king of fader's" caught this unbelievable piece of cant from watchtower in thursday's life and ministry 'daily text'.. (based on 2 corinthians 1:24 " not that we lord it over your faith").
"jehovah has not given us authority to make personal decisions for others.
someone who makes needless rules is not protecting his brothers safety - he is trying to become the master of his brothers faith.

It's either abject hypocrisy or complete self-knowledge. Personally, I call it hypocrisy. They are not blind to the role they play in the organization. They are aware that they create codes of conduct for Jehovah's Witnesses to follow.

I don't like Jim Jordan but I think he's asking necessary questions, so kudos to him. We need to be back to normal as soon as possible. I'm sick of this, who isn't? -

*laughs* Do not become the master of another's faith? Too late, the Governing Body beat you to it. Too funny.
