it really is your way or no way Minimus lol
Very few things in life are black and white especially when it comes down to what decisions you make and when.
Nobody has the right to tell us what to do or how to live our lives.
a woman gets an abortion.
the baby is supposed to die because of the abortion but doesn’t.
should that living baby be put to death or should the baby be given medical help to survive?.

some witnesses realize that they got into a religion and it turned out to be disastrous.
many decide they have to somehow get out.
some do it right away and others take longer.. where are you in your journey?
There is no right and wrong in this.
Let people make their own minds up and come to their own decisions on what they do with their futures.
You have no right to coheres them into taking a particular stance.
They will decide to stay or leave i their own time.
Oh ...and I admit my error about you not being raised as a witness. My apology.

Not everything is black and white

It is up to the individuals when they do it...and IF they do it.
It is a huge life changing and at times, terrifying step for them.
In the meantime they should get our support and not be shamed into making a decision by calling them hypocrites, saying they have no principles, leading a double life and promoting lies
You have a very hard attitude (I have seen it on other threads too when people have differing views to you) and I think I was dead right about you.

"Exelder, I hope you have learned a lesson not to judge people like you did with me."
What??
The words below are YOUR words.
They accuse people of having no principles, leading a double life, promoting lies, being a hypocrite.
They show no compassion or understanding of an individuals circumstances.
How have I mis-judged what you have said?
Are they your words or not?
As a reminder...here is exactly what YOU have said in this thread:
"Especially as an elder, it should get to a point that you just can’t do it anymore unless of course you have no principles."
"I think a person should eventually get out of a false religion if they KNOW it’s bogus. Especially if you are an elder. How long will you be a hypocrite, forever??"
"So we should not promulgate a lie. When we do , we help no one."
"do you plan on continuously leading a double life or will you courageously leave a religion that you know teaches lies??"

I hope that you were more compassionate and understanding when dealing with the congregation than you are here branding people hypocrites and berating them for not leaving the organisation sooner.
No wonder we elders got such a reputation for being hard-hearted, dogmatic and judgemental.
Anyway I am glad that you made the brave decision and got out and hope that your life wasn't torn apart as much as some people who eventually made the same decision.

"Ex elder has an opinion. I think a person should eventually get out of a false religion if they KNOW it’s bogus. Especially if you are an elder. How long will you be a hypocrite, forever??"
So speaks a person who has no real concept of what it is like for a born in JW contemplating leaving the only thing that he has ever known for his whole life, with no social circle or meaningful contacts outside of the congregation, knowing that he will lose contact with all JW family members including children and grandchildren and close friends who he has known his entire life.
No education, assets to fall back on, starting completely afresh after living his whole life in bubble, indoctrinated in a believe system that tells you all worldly people are bad.
I don't think you have ever been a JW Minimus, or you would have some idea of what HUGE life changing event it is to leave the congregation and live the rest of your grieving for all the friends and family you have lost and will never see again.
Until you walk in my shoes and take the steps I have taken to leave this religion, don't you ever judge me or anybody else for being a hypocrite.
You have NO IDEA just how brave many members on this forum have been to eventually leave.
We should not be judged, branded hypocrites or made to feel even worse by people like you.

I don't think it is helpful to be talking about people living "double lives" or "courageously leaving a religion that you know teaches lies".
It took me years to leave and I paid a high price for it.
I already knew I was hypocrite being an elder teaching from the platform things I knew I didn't believe in anymore.
I already carried enough guilt with this kind of extra pressure or labelling being heaped on me.
Any Witness going through this dilemma is facing a tough time as it is.
They need to it in their own time and for their own reasons.
so, what do you think?
.
fwiw, i say sleazebag....
His 'conscience' only started to bother him once he had his fall out with Trump. Before that he had no problem going along with Trumps plans and even said he would take a bullet for him.
They are both sleaze bags.
UK people can't believe that out of all the people in America, Americans chose Trump as president.
