If I understand it correctly, doesn't the Earth actually move upon the fabric of spacetime, instead of hanging? The idea of an object hanging somewhere does not give the impression that it is actually rotating around another object, which would imply that the Biblical writer believed that the sun rotated around the Earth. I like the poetry of the line, but it's too vague to be of practical use in determining how scientifically accurate it is.

“Hanging the earth upon nothing”
by FFGhost infor those of you not up to speed on the latest jw trends, one of the key scriptures the jws are using in field serve-us lately is job 26:7, wherein the writer describes the earth as “hanging upon nothing”.. this text is used to indicate the bible’s “reliability”.
the reasoning goes something like this:.
“see, centuries ago, people thought the world was flat, or was resting on elephants or turtles, or some such nonsense.

I don't take issue with his desire to make it so long, but a first-time author will have trouble finding a publisher who is willing to offer an advance for such a large book. I think most agents would see the size of it and drop it in the recycle bin without reading past the title. If he was an established author with a following, he'd get some consideration, sure. I almost wish he'd managed to reach an agreement with a publisher. Imagine what a horror show that would've been!
But that's why I'm glad that there are options for self-publishing now. Everything from a massive memoir to a short booklet can be put up for sale. And if you are savvy enough at marketing, you can do quite well even without massive sales, since most of the earnings go to the author and not to a publishing company. If his books are making money, good for him! And if it saved a publisher, editor, or agent the grief of having to deal with him, the world is a slightly better place overall.

Why do ALLEGED adults......
by BoogerMan in........cheat when playing against others at computer games?
are they really such losers in life?.

Are you sure they are adults? There are a lot of young kids playing online these days, and a surprising number of them see no issue with using cheats to gain an advantage (though they seem to recognize how wrong it is when someone else does it against them).

Vintage posted a different link, which had this line:
Eleam is accused of sexually abusing his daughter and using sexual molestation as a form of punishment when she was a child.
Eleam killed himself when police attempted to take him into custody. On the one hand, I wish he'd had to face the court and his victims. On the other hand, it's not possible for him to have suffered enough for being such an awful person. Good riddance, and I hope his end won't be seen as a way to cheat justice, but as a form of closure for his victims.

200,000 words is insane. If I am remembering correctly, most genres are expected to come in at somewhere between 60,000 and 120,000 words, and it's generally more towards the former than the latter. Any publisher who would be willing to advance him a payment would almost certainly have assigned him an editor and made it clear that the manuscript would need to be pared down significantly before the editor took a look. Wasting their time with a massive eruption of text is a non-starter.
Self-publishing was his only realistic option anyway. He would not have worked well with an editor.

Another diabolical, disingenuous, nutcase illustration
by Beth Sarim inthis has been weighing on my mind all day,.
i just have to vent and get this off my chest.. the latest jw brainwashing, indoctrination session i think it was a broadcast.
toward the end where the speaker was spouting-off about being in a 'race' again and 'enduring until the end',.

It's like being in a dream, where no matter how much you run you never get any closer to your destination. Treadmill and hamster wheel are the proper analogies for it.

The question`s GOD beleiver / Creationists ignore or don`t / won`t / can`t answer ?
by smiddy3 inthe common thread of beleivers / creationists of a god creating life is design .. and if something / anything is designed it must have a designer ?.
however this reasoning is discarded when talking about the existence of god.. and if such a being as god somehow existed without a designer why not all forms of life itself as existing on earth ?.
coming into existence without a designer ?.

Smiddy3: And if something / anything is designed it must have a designer ?
By definition, something that was designed would require a designer. The question is better asked: is our physical reality designed? I am not sure that question can be answered, because we can define "god" in so many ways as to make anything possible. But until we find something that continued and persistent research shows had to be designed, we are free to disbelieve in a designer/creator.
The fact that the universe exists means that we have to accept that there was always something out there, or that it somehow appeared out of nowhere. None of these concepts make sense to me. Telling me that a god always existed and decided (after a literal eternity) to create a universe and populate one microscopic dot with beings that he would then take an inordinate interest in-- I can't wrap my head around it. At the same time, telling me that the universe -which is larger and more massive than I can possibly comprehend- was born from a dot that held all of its mass and was so tiny as to also be incomprehensible... same problem. I can't wrap my head around it.
Now, the difference is that the latter idea has proponents who have to demonstrate how they came to that conclusion. And even when their ideas become strong enough to gain acceptance, they can always be challenged as we learn more or when someone takes a different approach and gets useful answers. Science is wrong a lot of the time, which is part of the process of learning. The scientific method is a reliable way of learning, but it requires time and effort and will always be affected by people who make mistakes and by people who deliberately mislead others. It is superior to an approach that says "this ancient book has all the answers, they're just subject to the correct interpretation-- good luck with that!"
I leave the details to those who actually study the relevant fields of science. I don't have to prove that someone doesn't exist or that something didn't happen. If you cannot prove that someone does exist, or that something did happen, then I'm not concerned with what your book says about me or my future, or the future of my world.

Don't feel bad, Smiddy. My mother was one of many whose faith was only made stronger by the failure of 1975. To this day, she pretends that she understood that they were not making any predictions of the end, and she waits breathlessly for Armageddon, which is surely almost upon us.

LMsA: Oh boy did he fail miserably in this regard:
It's possible that he is being the best dad and husband he can be. It's just that his potential is limited to being really bad at both. Some people just really suck at things that almost everyone else manages to do a decent job of.
I mean, it's either that, or he's a filthy, lying douchebag. Okay, that might be a false dichotomy. He might simply be a miserable failure, as you said. Any other options? It's not looking good for the "best dad/husband" candidate of 2019!

I suppose it's fitting that Evans would get his start by working with someone named R. Kelly.
