smiddy3: And still we wonder .and speculate .........Why ?
Well, it's one of the most predictable human behaviors. Why wouldn't people be wondering and speculating, given the circumstances?

whateveryousay: Y'all are totally obssesed.
I think Lloyd is a scumbag but I watch his videos from time to time.
I think he's a scumbag and I don't watch his videos anymore. Technically, you're more obsessed than I am.
i remember having read somewhere, but i cannot find it anymore, that it is possible to debunk the 1914 calculus using only jw publications, like "insight on the scriptures" (chronologies) for example.. do you have any sources about that to suggest to me?.
thanks..
As an aside, that list of translations of a single verse that MeanMrMustard listed makes me wonder just how far off any translation of the Bible is from the original writings (which, as I understand it, have never been found). If all of these varied translations are from relatively few manuscripts, then it shows how difficult it is to get a consensus (impossible, by the look of it). If there are many manuscripts available to translate from, then are those also varied in what they say and how they say it?

I'm glad to see him gravitating away from JW-related content. That's what people have been hoping for, after all. I think it would be good for him to turn his YT channel into the Lloyd Evans Watch As I Struggle Through Life Show and forget that he ever was a JW. Maybe his future videos will feature tips on coloring your hair, losing weight, and learning to deal with rejection (on stage, I mean, although...).
study article 22 is headed.
"keep traveling on the "way of holiness".
this article states that since 1919, having left babylon the great in that year, jws today are traveling on 'the way of holiness" (a figurative highway) as it takes them through the spiritual paradise and leads them through to future kingdom blessings.. they say that 'preparatory work' of that highway began centuries earlier.
2006, 2012: The seriousness of viewing abhorrent forms of pornography is clearly emphasized
That is such a weird thing to say. To fundamentalist Christians, any 'form' of pornography is considered abhorrent and worthy only of being discarded or destroyed. I wonder what happened in 2006 and 2012 that the GB decided it was necessary to mention it, or to remind people of it now, as if it stands out as a seminal moment in JW history.

I thought he was buying liquor for the group when I saw the bottlegate video. I figured they kept a fridge stocked with some drinks for long meetings. It didn't occur to me that he was buying all of it for himself!

It is very easy to conclude that a prayer worked, if you interpret the results to support it.

Llubrevlis2000: It’s been long enough by now
It's only been a couple of days. The rumor mill can grind pretty slowly, and the earliest reports can be wildly off the mark. I think we'll find out more over the coming weeks, as people come and go and speak with others and some theories get built up and torn down, and so on.
It may take some time, but a fairly reliable account should eventually emerge.
{from watchtower life story- please note the pressure put on him at bethel}.
in 1934 karl klien had a nervous breakdown while serving at bethel.
baptized at 12 he didn't go door to door till he was 18...while serving as a teenage elder!
Witness 007: 1950 Brother Knorr invited me..to join the Writting Department. When I told him it did not matter where I served, HE REPROVED ME saying when an added privlege of service is extended we should be eager to accept it.
I think Ray Franz outlined a similar experience with Knorr in Crisis of Conscience. Knorr extended an offer to Franz to leave the Carribean and go to Bethel, and Franz implied that he was happy where he was. Knorr's reaction gave Franz the impression that he was rejecting a generous offer. Franz quickly clarified that he was happy to move to Brooklyn and the WTS HQ.
Knorr sounds like a guy who was used to people doing as he 'asked.'
