JW current stance on Vaccines?

it came to my attention that the covid-19 vaccine works by editing the genetic code of the mitochondrial dna, using gene therapy.. you should seriously question the moral implications of allowing a part of your dna to be modified.

does anyone have any concerns about this?if anyone has any questions, i can do my best to explain.

i personally find it very suspicious how they chose to word it, and conveniently inform us of this fact "after" people have taken the vaccine..

I see the Covid shots more as a flu shot (try to lessen the spread/impact) than a vaccine (provide immunity and prevent infection). I don't like the language games being played to make it seem like something it isn't, and we've permanently changed the definition of "vaccine" for what amounts to marketing purposes. And I think there was a lot of unnecessary fear mongering to push people to take the vaccines and now the boosters, and we have created a whole class of people who are maniacal germophobes.

None of that is good.

I also don't think the shots are an attempt at mass murder, because rejecting one narrative doesn't require me to adopt one that is certifiably insane on its face.

Regional Convention Attendance

elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).

he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.

co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

re: cardboard cutouts- they should ask the people who used to carpet the seats with pamphlets to 'reserve' them to step up now and help put the cardboard cutouts in the seats. It would be a familiar activity for them, only this time it would not inconvenience everyone else.

Thanks, Kim. I (like others here) have been getting the impression that he hasn't really made an effort to replace the work that his team used to do. If he's not paying attention to such an important story and relying on the kindness of strangers just to get decent convention video footage, it does look like he's just going through the motions now.

I guess that is more of an observation than a complaint. If he's ignoring CSA related items, it might be for the best.

re: the AP story on the JWs, how long was it up before he was informed via Twitter? Did the story break while it was nighttime in Croatia? I'm asking because I'd honestly be shocked if he didn't have some sort of way of getting this info quickly. Doesn't Google have a simple notification service that sends you an email or text based on a search term?

It seems, to me, to be the sort of news item that he would want to know about immediately, in order to make a video about it as soon as possible. Has he made a video about this case?

Why not just upload the sushi on a regular schedule, and then combine them in a playlist? It keeps people coming back for content, and those who want to binge only have to click one button.

Revelation describes BTG as a whore that commingles with the powerful nations of the world. The WTS interprets this as representing false religion, which will work with Earthly governments to attack god's people before the end.

Planet-wiping vaccines seem both too subtle and too looney to be applied, IMO.

In the late 80s or early 90s, there was some reorganizing of districts or circuits in our region. I remember that convention attendance was much lower in our conventions after that. Not because fewer people were going, but because the district/circuits had been split and had fewer people in them.

Have there been any such changes lately?

Parodies would be a good idea, but the problem is he doesn't understand comedy and he cannot laugh at himself. His parodies would be more meanspirited than they would be funny. The videos would give others plenty of fodder for making fun of him, and that would just drive him insane.

as a gen x'er, i would not want to go back to the per-internet world, but i would like to go back in some specific technologies.

I like the faster speeds and having so much information at my fingertips. I avoid social media for the most part, because it works okay in very small doses but consumes people once they are participating daily. I think we'll either adapt to the volume of daily interaction or learn to throttle it back to something that doesn't seem so overwhelming.

It did teach us that we take common sense for granted, sometimes. I guess the videos of people trying the cinnamon challenge will be a lasting reminder that, after decades of growing our knowledge by leaps and bounds, humans are still capable of epic levels of stupid behavior.

How about having a special undercover mode so PIMOs can browse the site with greater security?

when you visit the site it says jehovahs-witness big and bold.

a pimo might be browsing the site and a jw might come up behind him unexpectedly and notice he's visiting a site about jws other than jw.org, which can lead to the pimo reported for viewing apostate information.. to help remedy this risk, i was thinking about the possibility of having a button that activates an undercover mode where the title of the site is not prominently displayed so it's not easily apparent to an accidental eavesdropper that it's an apostate website.

also, the color-scheme and graphics can be different so that it doesn't look like the regular site.
