Tamalam: Simply the fact he admitted on camera he 'dated' a sex worker is more than enough proof that someone stating 'he engaged in sex work' is a reasonable conclusion.

Correct! You can understand why he would not want this case to proceed to an actual trial. There is no shortage of footage and messages where he makes statements that will undermine his case. In court, he would be confronted with these and his case would crumble. Not only are there multiple instances of him making different claims in regards to his Thailand trip, there are also messages and letters. Some we have seen, others we have not seen... yet.

Again, I really hope the seven get these "evidence" letters. I'd love to see videos from the seven, covering each claim with video clips of Evans confirming what they said, or undermining his own case, and smile as his credibility disappears in a tiny puff of smoke. What can he do? More vague insinuations? More self-pitying videos and statements? Maybe he can open a Patreon level where he pays you if you subscribe.

even elders can be part of the new jw lite brigade these days.

they don’t need to go on door to door anymore and there is no requirement for anything really.. taking meeting parts is all dead easy you could turn up on the day with zero preparation because it’s all in the meeting workbook.. quarterly elders meetings are just old men having a good old natter just like old men do down the pub.. congregations could be likened to pubs or bars these days just without the drinks, those come at other times.. no need for territory maps, these almost went away with covid letter writing now they are extremely slow getting finished as those who still go door to door only do ten mins.. you could even voice your questions these days about things the gb say and then just say “we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know”.

i predict they will say this about 1914 soon..

LMsA: only to be turned down, quite possibly because he has a reputation round town for torpedoing his marriage because he couldn’t control his penis.

I doubt he ever gets far enough for any lady to know any of that. Just imagine what a date with him is like (assuming you aren't a sex worker, of course): tired, gray, dumpy middle-aged guy who can't stop talking about himself and seems annoyed that you're not impressed by him. If they find out he left his wife, they are probably thinking "how the hell did he manage to land a woman in the first place?"

I think either Russell or Rutherford used a similar explanation to cover for the disappointment after 1914 came and went without the end of the world. Or maybe it was to cover for the 1925 mess. They used Miller's "wrong expectation at the right time" excuse to claim that they weren't completely wrong, and that they meant well so it shouldn't be held against them.

I'm not sure if it was better or worse than gaslighting the rank and file, the way they did after 1975. I also wonder how it would have worked, if they had said "we got it wrong, but look at all the growth-- clearly Jehovah blessed our efforts" after 1975.

That is one of his favorite themes- the exJW community is full of people who are so damaged by their experiences that it messes them up. It's his explanation for everything- for his infidelity, for the 'hate campaign', for the loss of support, and so on. When you have a boogeyman to blame your problems on, you never have to face your own part in creating them.

pr0ner: My theory now is he is betting on the Croatian court system being "glacially slow" knowing full well they will reject it.

That is my thought as well, that he would love for it to drag on for several years. He can complain to his supporters that the legal system is too slow, but that he is in for the long haul, and so on. And then he can either hope they forget about it, or use the dismissal as another launching point.

And I agree that the case will be dismissed because none of the "crimes" were committed on Croatian soil. So he can continue to spin it as he pleases, knowing that it will never get anywhere.

Because one thing to remember is that the claims made by Kim are not a "he said/she said" situation. Their communication was through messenger apps. Kim has mentioned that she has all of the messages he sent and discussions they had. If he thought that there was even a small chance that the case would progress to an actual trial, he would not have filed against Kim, since she can present his own words to the court.

It's no accident that he made her the face of the 'defamation campaign' and tried to destroy her. One can only imagine the damage she could do by releasing all of his messages...

had a ridiculous public talk outline defending the genesis flood myth.. do they have a current one doing that ?.

science is a study of the material universe and is not able to study that which cannot be observed.

It's too late to edit, but "observed" should be "tested" in the above statement.

The reason for this should give us pause. It is occasionally pointed out that science cannot intrude on the realm of religion, since science is a study of the material universe and is not able to study that which cannot be observed. If this is the case, then we also have to recognize that we have no reliable way to study the supernatural. Including gods, and their possible influence in our lives.

The scientific method is designed to minimize the effect of human biases. We cannot eliminate those, nor can we prevent scientists from doing very unscientific things. Over the long term, the scientific method gradually weeds out the bad stuff and we are left with a better understanding of how things work. There is no such process available for the supernatural. Even the first step --observation-- is highly unreliable. Not only is there no way to account for our biases, the supernatural is heavily dependent on them for 'interpretation.'

The supernatural is essentially a study done entirely on guesswork, at every stage. This is not an effective way to learn about or understand anything.
