I don't know if he would write a tell-all, since his sons are in and the family bonds may be too strong for that. It would be an entertaining read, as long as he's not filtered.

New blood card
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inall elders just got letters about this new blood card system .
“language-coordinating congregations will receive separate parcel(s) containing the revised durable power of attorney for health care (dpa-e) for all congregation(s) in their literature group.“.
my questions are - why the revision and what has been revised?.

Thank you for posting those.
Wow, that is a lot longer than I remember! The old ones were 2x the size of a credit card. The text on one side, the space for signatures on the other. That was it. I guess it has to be that detailed now, for legal reasons. No clue what the changes are, though.

BORG OFF: I just haven’t seen anyone else with the ability to speak to newly woken up JW in the same way as Lloyd has done over the years
I think that it helped that he would often slice up the long videos into smaller solo segments that were only 10-15 minutes long. His presentation in these is good, and the information can be useful. They can be handy for someone who has a foot out the door and wants some reassurance.
But this topic isn't about his work helping exJWs leave the organization. It's about how he treats others and how he behaves, which matters when his brand involves making moral judgments against the WTS. There are quite a lot of exJWs working to help people to learn about the organization and get out of it, and he has treated many of them... poorly. Enough that some have stopped doing that work, embittered by the experience of being attacked by him and by his army of supporters. That's a loss that we probably cannot quantify. One can only hope that some of them will be encouraged to return by the events of the past year.
But if the pushback against Evans stops, those returning exJW content creators may end up going through the same bitter experience from before, because he is so vindictive and destructive in his desire to get at anyone who isn't fully on his side. It helps them, and it helps the growing number of his supporters who make the mildest criticism and are savaged for it, and wonder what they did wrong. They can come here and realize that they didn't do anything wrong, aside from supporting Lloyd.

Divided by three, it's around $2,400/month. I think that's around twice the average wage in Croatia?

What Will JW's Do If They Find Themselves Still Conscious after Death?
by Sea Breeze inwe all know that despite many scriptures to the contrary, jw's believe that when they die, their consciousness will cease.
my question is this: what will be the likely reaction of jw's if they find themselves conscious after death?.

Sea Breeze: Many people find these facts impossible to explain away from a purely natural point of view.
The only one that I could see an issue with is number 11, which appears to claim that there was a "risen Jesus." All of the others could be factual, since they do not require any sort of supernatural event to be true. A man named Jesus could have been crucified. If he had followers, they could have felt despair and hopelessness. And so on.
Aside from number 11, assuming that these are all true doesn't get us to Jesus as anything other than a popular/controversial and influential person who was put to death. Number 11 cannot be taken at face value as something that could happen from a naturalist perspective. And even people who would believe in the supernatural would not necessarily accept number 11, since they might believe in a different religion or deities.

Is Wokeness a Religion
by JeffT inthis is long so i'll just post a link, i think many here will agree with a lot of what the author has to say.
it certainly resonated with my thinking of the last few years.

As politics becomes more extreme, people will treat it as religion. They will take the position that their political views are the only correct ones and that any action they take to further them (and to prevent any other views from being adopted) is acceptable because it is a moral imperative. This is actually something of a constant in politics. There will always be people entering the political arena with the intent of rebuilding the system with a restrictive and authoritative vision in mind. The only hope is that there are enough extremists on either end of any issue to keep one side from overwhelming the other. When that happens, you get any of the great and terrible dictatorial governments that have plagued human society for thousands of years.
Woke leftism is simply one of the current movements intended to force a takeover of government and the everyday life of citizens. One can only hope there are enough fanatics arrayed against it, to keep things from completely going to shit.

Heavenly Gates Closed in 1935 Re-opened in 2007
by Alfred insince 1935, the watchtower had been categorically teaching (for over 6 decades) that the heavenly calling of the 144,000 anointed christians had ceased in 1935. this teaching was especially significant to older jws (especially those who spent much of their lives serving the watchtower as pioneers, elders, missionaries, bethelites, etc.
) because many of these would eventually turn their attention to the aging governing body members and feel a sense of relief knowing that the end was drawing ever so near.
in other words, as more governing body members (who were born before 1935) passed away, the closer they would get to their long-awaited reward of surviving armageddon and living on paradise earth where they would finally hug grass-eating lions near a waterfall while marveling at snow-peaked mountains in the distance.

What was their last comment on the issue? Last I recall, they were willing to allow the partakers and count the numbers without any judgment, since it was left to Jehovah to determine who has the Heavenly calling. I don't think there's anything else they can do, either they leave it as-is or... what? Write articles critical of those who partake? Tell the partakers to be more stringent in their determination of what the Heavenly calling feels like? It seems like those options would insult and perhaps alienate them.
I suppose they could find some way to reinterpret the scriptures and come up with a new explanation that accounts for the rise in partakers. But that could also encourage even more people to partake, which I am assuming they don't want (although, again, the new interpretation could do away with that concern as well).

I read Salem's Lot several years ago. I recall that I liked it, but I'd have to reread it to remember if there was anything that stood out, good or bad. I might have it on my Kindle, so maybe it's worth a re-read...

People can still view his videos and gain some understanding about the WTS and JW beliefs. But knowing about who Evans really is can prevent them from supporting him vocally or with money. There are other exJWs making content, though some have stopped, and a few in part because of unpleasant experiences with Evans. His approach to 'activism' has split the community and can make it more difficult on people who are looking for good info without any baggage. It's fine to recognize that some of his content is useful, but it helps to know who he is when the camera is turned off.
