  Did God know Adam and Eve will Sin? - JW perspective

  i read about this topic sometime ago in one awake mag (cant rememer which one).

  and from the jw perspective, he didnt know which means it took him by suprise or which makes it seem god is not as almighty as we would believe.

  I never had an issue with god's ability to 'foresee' the future. If something hasn't happened, then you can't see it- the moment doesn't exist yet. So god could be all-knowing and also not know what happens next. So, how can he predict the future, if he can't see it? Easy- he's in full control of everything, everywhere. If he says "this will happen in 100 years" he can make it happen. Presto! He predicted the future.

  After all, I cannot imagine god being bound by time. If he could look forward into the future, he would only see a possible outcome. Otherwise, he would be bound to act by some force greater than him, and that makes no sense at all. God doesn't have to look ahead. He holds reality itself in his hands.

  simple enough question for a jw to answer, because the org has told them for over 100 years that, .

  a) jesus would reign for 1000 years, and.

  b) that his reign began in 1914 when he became king.

  Lacking any sort of scale for comparison, we would need to view it from the point of the person making the claims or predictions. For god, the word 'soon' is meaningless. He experiences time very differently than people do- for god, a day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as a day. If you're eternal, time has no bearing.

  If you are an organization that uses anticipation as a tool for getting and keeping people interested and involved, then "shortly" or "soon" refer to a very brief timescale. How many people would have stayed JWs if the GB's spirit guide revealed that the current system of things -destined to be destroyed "shortly" or "soon"- would still be here in 50, 75, or 100+ years?

  JW current stance on Vaccines?

  it came to my attention that the covid-19 vaccine works by editing the genetic code of the mitochondrial dna, using gene therapy.. you should seriously question the moral implications of allowing a part of your dna to be modified.

  does anyone have any concerns about this?if anyone has any questions, i can do my best to explain.

  i personally find it very suspicious how they chose to word it, and conveniently inform us of this fact "after" people have taken the vaccine..

  I see the Covid shots more as a flu shot (try to lessen the spread/impact) than a vaccine (provide immunity and prevent infection). I don't like the language games being played to make it seem like something it isn't, and we've permanently changed the definition of "vaccine" for what amounts to marketing purposes. And I think there was a lot of unnecessary fear mongering to push people to take the vaccines and now the boosters, and we have created a whole class of people who are maniacal germophobes.

  None of that is good.

  I also don't think the shots are an attempt at mass murder, because rejecting one narrative doesn't require me to adopt one that is certifiably insane on its face.

  Regional Convention Attendance

  elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).

  he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.

  co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

  re: cardboard cutouts- they should ask the people who used to carpet the seats with pamphlets to 'reserve' them to step up now and help put the cardboard cutouts in the seats. It would be a familiar activity for them, only this time it would not inconvenience everyone else.

  Thanks, Kim. I (like others here) have been getting the impression that he hasn't really made an effort to replace the work that his team used to do. If he's not paying attention to such an important story and relying on the kindness of strangers just to get decent convention video footage, it does look like he's just going through the motions now.

  I guess that is more of an observation than a complaint. If he's ignoring CSA related items, it might be for the best.

  re: the AP story on the JWs, how long was it up before he was informed via Twitter? Did the story break while it was nighttime in Croatia? I'm asking because I'd honestly be shocked if he didn't have some sort of way of getting this info quickly. Doesn't Google have a simple notification service that sends you an email or text based on a search term?

  It seems, to me, to be the sort of news item that he would want to know about immediately, in order to make a video about it as soon as possible. Has he made a video about this case?

  Revelation describes BTG as a whore that commingles with the powerful nations of the world. The WTS interprets this as representing false religion, which will work with Earthly governments to attack god's people before the end.

  Planet-wiping vaccines seem both too subtle and too looney to be applied, IMO.

  In the late 80s or early 90s, there was some reorganizing of districts or circuits in our region. I remember that convention attendance was much lower in our conventions after that. Not because fewer people were going, but because the district/circuits had been split and had fewer people in them.

  Have there been any such changes lately?
