I'm both impressed and feeling as if I shouldn't be surprised. He does not seem to have made any effort at keeping them aboard this time.

The Next Big Thing In WT World
by NotFormer inthings got a bit lively after the agm leaks in october.
there was a lot of discussion going on on this board for a few months.
now that all the leaks have been more or less confirmed as policy, and we've had lively discussions at length concerning the changes, things seem to have slowed down here.. a few suggestions have been raised as to what might be the next changes, such as women being allowed to wear slacks (in the usa, anyway), decoupling from 1914 as an anchoring date and others.. so, what changes do you think will be announced this year?.

Vidiot: …that deep down, “The World” actually knew we had “The Truth”,
Anytime someone uses a form of "you know it's true" you should always imagine them preceding it with "now, I don't have a shred of proof for this, but..."

Jan: So are there 'consequences'to wearing trousers when they shouldn't ?
I don't know how it would be handled today. When I was in, I don't think I ever saw a sister go to a meeting or door-to-door wearing pants. But a sister who did so would likely have been admonished by an elder, and I suppose they would not have allowed her to go door-to-door, although I don't think they would have asked her to leave a meeting. I am pretty sure that they would have given a talk from the podium or at least a short discussion of "decorum" in a future meeting, to make clear that it was not acceptable.

Is a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses marries a disfellowshipped person, what is the outcome?
by EdenOne inhello all.. i need a quick answer, and also a solid reference in the literature, please.. if a jw marries an unbeliever, there is reproof, it's frowned upon, it's disloyal, there will be loss of privileges, etc, but there's no other more serious consequences.
but, in a scenario where two people are free to marry, but one is a baptized jw and the other is disfellowshipped / disassociated, what are the consequences?.
thanks for your help.. r..

I don't think there is a specific written rule about it. When I was in, I would have considered that a DF offense, in that you are being pretty blatant about your disrepect of the organization. Today? I think it's dumb to DF people and shun them, so go ahead and get hitched. If they DF you, they're doing you a favor. Enjoy your freedom.

Jan, women are expected to wear skirts to meetings and for any preaching work (door-to-door, Bible studies, etc). Anywhere else, they are free to wear pants. In my experience, most sisters wore skirts or dresses to any get-togethers with other JWs.

That would be almost be the proper ending to his story: him trying to find a new place to live, with the two most important criteria being that prostitution and drugs are legal. Any videos he would produce after that could be legitimately described as 'lit.'

I think I mentioned this before, but the book could also open him up to civil action if he libels anyone. At the very least, it might be possible to get the book pulled from shelves (digital or otherwise) and freeze the meager revenues it would have generated. Is that worth the time and effort?

Lloyd Evans Patreoff Pool February 2024
by DerekMoors inhappy new year!
time to give us your vote for lloyd's fall from grace this month.. december 6th he was at 406. as of today, january 3rd, he's at 388. that is exactly, on the dot, where he was january 3rd of last year!
he's lost all gains from his begging videos and reminders and tin cup waving and etc.. so, fire up the shrooms and let us know where you think flab boy will be on february 2nd.

Damn, when I guessed 375, I did not think he would hit that before the end of month drop. I guess that happens when you forget that you have a Patreon. Shrooms don't do much for your memory, eh?

Thanks for the info, Caminante.
On the "About" page, there is a comment from August 27, 2021 that appears legit, and the next comment is a spambot posting on December 22, 2022. After that, it's all spam. The last real comment is on page 8 of the comment section, which now runs to 457 pages.
I wonder if someone kept the site cleaned up for a while, then it was either shut down or inaccessible until December 2022? In any case, the spambots kept dumping all over it until October 2023, when the site was down. At this point, it probably would be best to simply shut down the comment sections.

JW Watch is finally back up. No updates since 2021, though.
The "about" page is funny, because it now has over 18,000 'comments'. I don't know if there are any legit comments, because spammers are adding new comments every hour. In fact, you can now tell how long the site was down by checking the time stamps on the spam: It was down from October 4, 2023 to January 19, 2024. I wonder if we can add links to this topic and lloydevans.info to the comments. It would be a real chore to find them in all of that spam.
Edit to add: Looks like almost all of his pages have a comment section that is flooded with spam. Good job maintaining the site, I guess...
