Why it's good to discuss politics (but if you don't want to, you don't have to)
by LoveUniHateExams ini was reading through this site the other day and came across several posts by different posters lamenting this site, saying what a shame it has gone from debating jw believers to talking politics and current affairs.. there are a few issues i have with these kind of posts.. first, discussing politics is actually a good thing.
well, in case you haven't noticed, we in the west are going through a culture war.
certain groups of far-leftists are trying - and sometimes succeeding - to shut down free discussion.

Does Anybody Here Sympathize With The Looters That Cause Destruction?
by minimus ini realize some here are diehard democrats.
whether you are democrat, republican or independent, do you support any of these looters that cause mayhem and destruction for their cause?
i have heard some people sympathize with these law breakers saying they understand why they do what they do and leave it at that.. of course i wonder how they would feel if their own property was burnt or stolen or destroyed..

You are indeed right about the tea tax Simon. It's removal cost many American colonists financially. However, that does not negate my contention that the Boston Tea party was.looting and destruction of private property in order to achieve political goals. It also illustrates how the winners of a conflict wrote its history. This further proves my contention that rioting and looting have long been a political tool.
If guys want to read about the real.root causes of the tea party please read the article linked below.

Rape was used as a political tool in this country also. While the kkk lynched black men , they preferred to rape black women. They did this as a way of controlling blacks . It is a matter of historical fact.
You continue to dance around what I am posting. We must understand why these people are looting and destroying our cities. If we don't understand and figure out how to remedy the root causes I fear that the rioting and looting will continue. Meeting these protesters a with brute force is not working.
Again I reiterate , I dont.support looting, however I urge everyone to try understand why it is happening.
We must use a more intellectual approach in not only understanding, but combating the root causes.

Anymous check your facts there was no new government at the time the Boston Tea party occurred. It was not until later that the colonies succeded.
The Constitutional Convention(also known as the Philadelphia Convention, the Federal Convention, or the Grand Convention at Philadelphia) took place from May 25 to September 17, 1787,
The Boston Tea Party was a political and mercantile protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 16, 1773
The point of my post was.not to condone looting or rioting It was to.demonstrate that looting and economic damage has been used as a political tool.for.centuries .
Whether it is perceived as criminal behavior or patriotic behavior is often the result of who wins politically. Winners write history.
Again I personally.do.not.support looting. I do however understand how it has been used as a political.tool in the past and its.attempted use currently.
There are other examples.of looting used as a political tool in American history.
Ie. Draft Riots in New York city during civil war

For the record I don't support looting but I do support the right to protest. My above questions where posed to point out perspective.

I have a question . How do you characterize what occurred during the Boston Tea party ? Is that looting? Should those involved been shot on sight? Where is the line.between protesting and looting?

It was a disaster. She tried to guilt me into changing my stance. My wife and her nurse could not believe her behaviour. I guess no matter what a leopard can't change their spots. I guess it is a toxic relationship , no matter how much I wished otherwise. I did not even present her with the evidence of her financial abuse. What would be the point sigh.

No he has complete care of her healthcare and checkbook. He is not looking out for her best interest. I am not concerned with her will. I just don't want him making medical decisions for her based upon financial benefits for him. Ie. Nursing home rather than the around the clock care I have arranged for her in her home.

There is no creator that is the point. It is all ancient myths trying to explain natural phenomena.
