Met JWs today - they lied about who they were
by Xanthippe inso a couple came into the library where i work today and the woman said she was from the british sign language association and asked if i would display a leaflet for her.
when she handed me the leaflet the jw website logo jumped out at me as did the words 'would you like to study the bible with jehovah's witnesses?
' there was a small picture that had someone conversing in sign language but the other pictures were typical jw leaflet pictures.

The WT leaders are unrepentant, not ignorant or stupid. Well, Lett is clearly an idiot but the others are willful.

JW.org Childrens Page: Expanding My Circle Of Friends
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/teenagers/worksheets/expanding-circle-of-friends/.
some things of note here, it looks to me that they're encouraging young ones to befriend older people and "people not like them".
could this be because many of the young ones are now leaving?.

Strangely ironic from a cult that insists on extreme conformity.
How can you meet people with "different backgrounds" when everyone is forced to believe the same things, dress the same, no visible tattoos, no beards for me, no stylish haircuts, no interests in "questionable" music or entertainment (whatever the hell that means), and definitely no different religious beliefs.
And it's just bizarre that they would even put this in print:
“Excluding people from your circle of friends could deprive you of rewarding relationships.”
I can solve that in an instant. Abolish institutionalized, coerced shunning. Problem solved.

"jesus never said the spiritual food would be perfect"
by nowwhat? inoh so it's jesus fault the spiritual food hasn't been perfect!
we your governing body are just responsible for serving it!
think about this people, they are saying it was jesus who told us the end was going to come in 1975. then before the 1914 generation passed away no later than the 1990's.

For an allegedly "international brotherhood," the lack of real diversity is really quite telling.

Today's W.T on GB not being inspired is having ZERO impact on most J.W's
by Isambard Crater inthe congregation i attend had it's watchtower study on thursday night because of l.d.c work this week-end, and another congregation i have some not very spiritual friends in had their watchtower study on wednesday.
from what i have delicately prised out of people, the congregations loved the watchtower study this week, saying it was so encouraging and all the usual stuff, with no-one seeming to realise the g.b.
said they're not inspired, so the spirit int he past has moved them to teach wrong things, and all the other ideas excellently summed up on reddit.. today's watchtower will wash over the heads of most j.w's like it never even happened, the all remaining as loyal as ever, and it makes me so, so sad..

Steve2: ex-JWs appear to study it more thoroughly than current JWs.

Would human settlement of Mars invalidate Bible prophecy?
by truthseeker ini don't think this topic has been discussed before but yesterday i read something to the effect that trump wants a human mission to mars to be completed within his presidency.. with that being said, the watchtower teaches that what started on earth ends on earth, in other words, the fall of adam and eve would end with the passing of the 1,000 year millennial reign when christ destroys all his enemies, rebellious "perfect" humans, and the devil and his demons who are let out the abyss for a short while.
he then hands the kingdom back to his father.
an elder in my old congregation once told us during a public talk that he was an ardent astronomer but then referenced the scripture where it says, "the earth he has given to the sons of men" (psalms 115:16).
