i'm fairly new on here and i've told a lot of my story but to recap, after 60 odd years i've stopped going to the meetings.
my husband had already left the truth years ago and my children didn't become jws.(phew!).
i had a horrendous childhood growing up as a witness which included sexual assault by a close relative, also a jw.
Phoebe, you've gotten a lot of great support and advice, so far so I'll just cut to the chase in regards to how to respond to the elder that is harassing you.
Tell that wimpy elder to grow a spine (or maybe a pair) and get off your back. HIS problem is not YOURS.
It's so sad, and pathetic really l, that people will show more loyalty to an imaginary being represented by--quite frankly--seven fairly inept losers than their own flesh and blood.
It's a form of induced mental illness. It's insanity really.
