JD: I wanted to just get opinions.
Well you got 'em!
i wanted to get people's opinion on something.
how do you feel when people use illegal means while performing their activism to shed light on the watchtower.
there have been people who have illegally recorded conversations with elders and with branch offices or at meetings.

JD: I think that breaking the law for any reason is not right. ... willfully breaking of a felony is wrong no matter what the reason behind it is.
OK. Now we know your thoughts. You've heard ours and it's pretty much clear that you don't agree with the general consensus of the forum members.
We haven't changed your mind and you certainly haven't changed ours.
Good talk!

JD, thank you for finally answering my question.
I'm not familiar with the Lewis case nor do I care to familiarize myself with the details of it.
As I, and many others here, have clearly said: what is legal is not always right. I've made my well-thought out position on this clear.
I'm curious. What's your dog in this fight? Why do you care if people "use illegal means while performing their activism"?
Please explain. It would be very helpful.

JD: they do comply with the court orders after they have exhausted their rights to appeal.
That's your answer?!?
I think you're just being evasive. So I'll restate my question and revise it for clarity: Why don't the WTBTS' leaders simply just cooperate the first time when asked to by judges via court orders?
Why obfuscate? Delay? Appeal? If they truly have nothing to hide, why not cooperate and be transparent?

JD, I am very familiar with both the purposes and the process of the judicial system in the US.
Rather than get sidetracked in a pointless discussion of the morality of legal maneuvering I just want you to consider one simple question: Why don't the WTBTS' leaders simply just cooperate when asked to by judges via court orders?
so we've already established that most religions can be classified as high control groups, we can name the wbts, church of scientology, lds, etc.
the list goes on and on.
but are there any religions or organizations that aren't classified as a high control group or aren't as bad as the ones i've just mentioned?
Dozy: JWs / WTBTS ... exploits free labour.
Bingo!
And the methods the organization uses to do that are classic cultish behaviors.
It's not WHAT a group does that determines if it is a cult--the specific activities are irrelevant. It's HOW THEY TREAT THEIR MEMBERS!

I gave you one. You didn't like it.
Research it yourself if you REALLY want to know: If you care and if you dare.

This is an undeniable fact with over 100 years of legal controversies to prove it: The WTBTS uses the LAW (Read: legal system) to serve its own selfish ends every time. But they even more easily disregard what is MORAL and/or RIGHT every time if it might cost them $$$.

JD, your answer is funny. You are obviously still a JW apologist, at least on some level.
What the courts LATER decided is one thing. The fact remains, that WT did not initially comply.
BTW, that was only one example. There are countless others here, UK and OZ.
