Sure. Except research has shown that eyewitness accounts are notoriously unreliable (National Center for State Courts).

According to a report published in Scientific American: "Since the 1990s, when DNA testing was first introduced, Innocence Project researchers have reported that 73 percent of the 239 convictions overturned through DNA testing were based on eyewitness testimony" (Arkowitz & Lilienfeld, 2010).

Why isn't there hard evidence as in ... I don't know ... a living "dogman" or at least a corpse?

BTW, there is no such thing as THE scientific method. That's a myth. Science is a way of trying to understand nature and reality. It's a philosophical, evidence based approach to attempting to solve the mysteries of life, the universe and everything.

Do You Ever Have Dreams You’re Still a JW?

last night i dreamt i was at a circuit assembly; i even had a walk-on speaking part early in the morning program.

i spent the rest of the day “working” the event in a security detail.

the dream lasted until the entire day’s program was over.

Last night I dreamt I was at a Circuit Assembly; I even had a walk-on speaking part early in the morning program. I spent the rest of the day “working” the event in a security detail. The dream lasted until the entire day’s program was over.

There was even some discussion that I should probably attend another assembly since I missed so much of the program “working.”

Weird.

I left the religion almost ten years ago and haven’t been to a meeting in over five. And yet—every once in a while—I still have dreams that I’m at a meeting, an assembly or a convention.

Frequently in these dreams, I’m a speaker. Sometimes I’m in the audience and I hear my name announced from the platform that I’m to give the next part. In these dreams, I never know this until it happens; it’s totally unexpected and catches me by surprise: I don’t have my notes and I frequently don’t have a jacket on. I’m shocked and completely unprepared! It’s a very unsettling feeling. (FYI: I was an elder for over 20 years and had many meeting parts and more than a few assembly parts.)

Again, weird.

Has anyone else here had these kinds of dreams?

How would you reason with a family member who says...

DOFP: Throw the question back. How is it better than Christendom?

This question rocks. Just keep asking it over and over again using different words and in different ways. Keep them on the ropes with it. Be relentless and watch them struggle futilely to come up with a coherent, cohesive answer.

They won’t be able to, but still they will try in vain

And so, ultimately, they will eventually circle back around to some version of “the GB is the FDS. This is Jehovah’s Organization. It just is. We have the Truth!”

You will be ale to watch as, before your very eyes, they will become flustered and dumbfounded but still dig in their heels and insist they are right despite their inability to clearly articulate an explanation or logical answer. You, on the other hand, will have just lost a friend or family member and will soon have two elders asking to meet with you privately.

What happens after that depends on your ability to lie and pretend that it was all just a misunderstanding on the part of the offended party, or perhaps you’ll choose to press the elders with the same line of questioning and end up disfellowshipped.

That logical conclusion of "The Lord is my Shepherd" analogy always bothered me as a JW.

I remember once bringing that up to a fellow elder and the completely dumbfounded look on his face was priceless; it was like I asked him, "What is infinity divided by zero?"

Glad I left after only a fleecing, but sad my two children are still getting flocked!

Whilst many sincere ones have looked back to specific dates to ascertain the fulfilment of prophecy ...

The British spelling of "fulfilment" and the use of the word "whilst" both indicate this did NOT come from WT HQ in the USA.

Also, the misspelling of "slave" as "salve" in the posted excerpt makes me question the authenticity of this alleged release. The WTBTS is wrong about a lot of things, but they are meticulous about their copyediting, particularly when it comes to anything that is going to be published. It's one of their tells.

UTR: Is that a transcription error on your part, or is that mistake in the original?
