  My MIL had 2 black cats..they looked identical..she named one in and one out..because when one wanted in the other wanted out...

  My dog as a child was given to us at christmas so they named her "Christmas Holly"..nickname "Holly"..

  My bird was named Jinx..then I found out he was a she and tried different names like Jinxy and Jinxette..but nothing fit..

  My boy cat was named Sampson...he was black with white paws and chest..after we got him neutered we named him delilah..

  He even started meowing like a girl...Poor baby...

  Ever BUILD a Kingdom Hall?

  i was involved in several, starting when i was about 10 or 11 with jobs like sweeping up sawdust or picking up loose nails.

  i loved it.

  once, when i was about 22 we were building the kh south of santa barbara in carpinteria.

  All us womenfolk were allowed to do is fix the food and serve it.....

  Working on the hall were "Menfolks jobs"...

  We did get an honorable mention when they said a prayer thanking Jehovah for the new building...

  ps..we didn't do quick builds then. And we had lots of windows...

  mother and sister in law ask if we believe it's the 'truth'?

  it was awful.

  they knew my husband (primitive genius) and i were inactive for years both when we were single and married but they didn't know we were christians now.

  they suspected and finally asked us during a recent visit whether or not we believe the org is the 'truth'?

  Yep..I had the same situation..except hubby gave in and went back..a dark day for us.(His family were all JW's)

  He really believed it was the truth..all the way till he died. Yep..they had no love in his end..they were too busy getting the assembly hall ready for the circuit overseers visit to visit him. He thought god was mad at him for not going to the hall regular and that's why "Jehovah" wouldn't let them visit him.It made him so sad in his final days..he died thinking god didn't love him.

  I waited for them to come visit me after he died..as they said they would..I was ready to let them have it..they of course never showed..as usual. He wasn't any good to them dead..And why bother with me.A lowly woman..

  But if they ever come to the door...Watch out!!!!!!!!!

  Snoozy..who went through the shunning and yet later they decided it was OK to associate with me.Go figure...

  April is Child Abuse Awareness Month

  Thanks Rebel..and Dollbaby I agree..Child abuse is all over..not only in the JW's religion. But at least the Catholics are owning up somewhat. JW's just keep denying.

  The trouble is it is so widespread. They have found it in Boyscouts..sports ..schools..besides religion. Pedophiles try to get these positions just for that purpose.

  The child porn man on our street that got arrested and is out on bail is pleading insanity. He originally sat down with his elderly parents and swore to them he was innocent. He said to them.."Has anyone ever come to you and told you I molested them or hurt them in any way?"..They answered no. He swore he was innocent of all charges. Now since they have so much evidence against him is changing his plea to insanity.But he is still down there living with his parents.

  His hearing is at the end of March..I am anxious to see what happens. I can't believe they are letting him out on bail with all the evidence they have against him.

  His parents are probably stupid enough to buy him another computer..the police confiscated his other one.

  Good Friend is dying

  my mom just called to tell me that a good friend of mine when i was in the "lie" is dying of colon cancer.. he asked my mom to talk to me about going to see him in the hospital before he goes into hospice.

  even though i have been faded for over 10 years, when my mom spoke to me i could only remember the good times we had as friends when we were kids, so it was a no brainer for me, i am going to see him this afternoon.

  i also asked my mom to get the phone number of another childhood friend who grew up with us that is dfed.

  One of the sweetest and most wonderful women I ever met (a JW)..convinced her hubby to become a JW..well he came in gung ho..he had such a outgoing personality everyone liked him. Trouble was one liked him too much..he ended up leaving this lovely woman for the other JW lady. She too left her JW hubby. Well it broke my heart..they were a beautiful couple with a very sweet daughter. He and his other woman got disfellowshipped..divorced their mates ...got married to each other..and soon after they were reinstated!..They kept going to the Kingdom hall..The same one..which I'm sure tore his wife #1 up.

  My wonderful lovely friend who's hubby left her for this other JW lady..got cancer soon after..she was dead within 6 months. It again broke my heart.

  When things like that happen..I question God. What kind of ironic joke is he playing on us? Why the good ones?

  I don't know if I will ever find the answer..but we should show our friends how much we appreciate them while we can.
