i celebrated my first christmas last year and can't wait till this year's season.

I already have three presents...I'm on my way! I have several more picked out and need to go pick them up. I love shopping early because I have time to think of really special presents for each person I buy for. Makes me feel good inside.
I remember when I first stopped being a JW and celebrated X mas..I would just buy stuff! Now I really put thought into it and it is much more fun...

Can still tie my own shoes...feed myself....dress myself .and still drives a car...
I hate going to bingo and love to just hit the road when the desire calls...

Well I am a 65 year old great grandma and I loved it!
I thought it was really stupid at first then I just started laughing my butt off. Can't wait to see it again..my grandson has the movie.
I heard he will be making a sequel..anyone else hear that?

i remember being really turned off to the idea that if you died before or during armageddon and had to be resurrected, then you couldn't get married and god would take away your sex drive.
is there an offical teaching on this?

I started to attend some meetings in 1958 then dropped out for a few years then went back in the early 60's. In the 60's I remember a lady being disfellowshipped and I remember my best friend being disfellowshipped in the 80's..then I left for good. Couldn't take anymore of the hypocrites!!! Dissasociated myself..and told them why.

she said in some parts of the south dog fights are common so we must understand where he's comming from.. well, in some parts of the south people discriminate against african americans.

In my opinion..people I have known that lived in the deep country put their animals below them. They regard them as an animal..not a human.They have little regards for their animals . If they don't obey..they are shot and replaced..just like that.
Cats and kittens were put in bags and drowned in a lake.If they didn't kill mice they were of no use to the farmer and they were disposed of.
People that have the animal fights probably just see them as a way to earn a buck. To them they are just animals and if they can't produce money (by winning fights) they are discarded.
It is probably an everyday life thing to the owners..I have seen cruel things done to animals on a farm that the farmer doesn't think twice about.( Like putting a pig in a small stall and deballing him with no anesthesia... I cried when they squelled) I can see what Whoopi may have meant. It is cruel still..but she wasn't showing approval..just stating a fact as she sees it. An unwise decision it would seem.

Whoopi is a good actress..and I wouldn't stop seeing her films because of a statement she made. (So far)

Thanks On the way out..I'd like to see that. That wasn't the teaching when I left but that could have changed in the many years I have been out.
I remember my before my JW hubby died, he and his JW Mom telling me if I didn't go back "Jehovah" would give my hubby a new wife ( in paradise) and he would forget all about me. Sweet weren't they? Also counting their chickens before they hatched assuming they would be in paradise..

aargh,,after about 3 weeks of torture pain with bad tooth, got it pulled.
only to get a dry socket,,it is now almost 2 weeks later and still a bit touchy.

I was told by the dentist that it was from trapped air caused by the gum closing from a blood clot on the outside before the inside healed up...the air pocket hurt worse than the toothache!
He just made a small incision and I had instant relief!
