What is Armageddon For?

armageddon is a military exercise where the nations will be judged in the "valley of decision" for how they treated israel in regard to dividing that land.

it is not to destroy the wicked as the wt teaches.

the wicked are destroyed from the effects of adam in that all die.. i will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

My father's funeral

last week i attended my father's funeral in hobart.

i was the first time i have been in a kingdom hall in several years, and many years since i had attended the hall of my childhood, but felt like it was just yesterday.

the funeral talk was quite a departure from normal, so worth writing about.

I'm so sorry for your loss..as fas as your Mom goes, she is probably looking forward to seeing your dad again which will help her deal with her loss

I wonder if after some time your Mom will join the group of abanoned witnesses that are set out to pasture so to speak?

I had the same experience at my JW hubby's memorial. ( I disassociated myself many years ago.) Some came up and hugged me and spoke to me and others stood right next to me and totally ignored me.

It had been many years since I had quit going so I didn't know many at his memorial, which was a good thing..

Many promised to stop by and visit me but no one ever called or came by. So much for their word..

NC only certain types of religion attract her kind of people (mentally unstable)...fanatic ones..like the JW's.

I also don't agree fully with your statement. I think the JW religion's teachings can cause mental problems in any person!

As far as her being a JW..she was probably one that sat in the back quietly and no one noticed...denying her would be the natural response. Also, Didn't they say she had the literature? how did she get it? I can't get it. She must have had some contact with them.

note: i retyped the boe letter that was sent from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses to all congregations in the us.

the letter is authentic.

My family just found out my grandfather died...6 months ago!

i can't believe that she would not call her step sons and let them know their father had passed away.

my father is a jw also and my little sister sees this woman at assemblies and she didn't bother to call anyone.

What a horrible way to find out Noni..I am so sorry for you and your family. Unfortunately there are even women out there that aren't JW's that alienate their spouses family just out of meanness and selfishness.

I'm sorry you didn't have more contact with your Grandpa..life sucks sometimes..but I bet he would be proud of the person you turned out to be..

I used to think the porn industry was "regulated" also but I recently read they found some porn stars that had HIV..apparently it isn't as regulated as some think. I am thinking the "whore" houses are the same way.
It seems in the "adult porn industry" no one wants to wear condoms..now they are sadly paying the price.

LONDON (AP) — "Sex Bomb" singer Tom Jones was recovering in a Monaco hospital Sunday, saying "severe dehydration" forced him to cancel a concert in the glamorous principality.

The longtime star, famed for his swivel-hipped appeal and soulful voice, apologized to his fans on his website and emphatically denied British press reports that he had suffered a heart scare that forced him to cancel his Monaco concert Saturday night.

"There are NO heart problems, as has been reported in the press," the singer's website stated.

Jones, a 71-year-old Welshman who burst to international fame in 1964 with "It's Not Unusual" and other hits, blamed his illness on a long successful tour "where many of the shows were in locations that were in the throes of high summer heat."

The website statement indicated that Jones had no choice but to make a rare cancellation: "Sir Tom was ordered by doctors not to perform in Monte Carlo yesterday evening due to severe dehydration," the statement read. "This was extremely disappointing for Tom, the band and all connected with the tour."

Saturday's canceled show was to have been the finale of his 3-month "Praise & Blame" tour.

A spokesman for the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco told The Associated Press that Jones was admitted to the hospital Saturday night and was doing well Sunday. There was no word on when Jones would be released.

Jones, whose charisma onstage earned some comparisons to U.S rocker Elvis Presley, made his singing debut at three. He appeared in hundreds of clubs and dance halls before his breakthrough series of hits catapulted him to some of the world's finest venues, with repeated shows at Las Vegas' glitzy hotels and casinos.

At the peak of his fame, and for decades afterward, adoring women near the front of the audience would shower him with their underwear as a sign of devotion.

Jones held onto his sexy image for decades, only recently agreeing to perform and be photographed without touching up the gray in his hair and beard.

In his statement, the apologetic crooner thanked fans for their understanding and support.

Jones plans a short tour of central and eastern Europe beginning in November.
