we always seem to get focused on the bad - and there is plenty of it for sure - and anyone who follows my posts knows i am no wt apologist by any stretch.
but focusing on the postive is a good thing in the 'moving on' process i think too.

Well it taught us to be prepared to discuss the JW religion..little did they know it would backfire against them..
I just read a post by German XJW and how he presented his info to a JW at a booth in a mall. He was 'Prepared"..

You sound like you were well equiped..funny when the JW's taught us to "Be prepared" it would someday backfire on them...

i live quite a mundane and often boring life..................due to circumstances beyond my control,.
but a few times a week i think "im so glad im alive "..............its usually when i take the dog out for a walk and see the lovely enviroment that im blessed to live in.. but today we fixed some lights up round the garden and now its gone dark finally ( 12pm).
they look so beautiful, i was stunned, a photo couldnt capture it.
Dark at 12 PM? Where are you? Did I read that wrong?
And I'm still trying to figure out why I am glad to get up in the morning....

Your wife is one year older than me. And probably prettier...
Hubby and I would have been married for 48 years this year..I lost him 3 years ago..
But I thought he was the greatest thing on earth too!
I'm so glad to see people that appreciate their spouses..while they still can.

Edited to add: ps...I looked up some of your posts and saw a picture of your family... You are right..she is very pretty..and like me... she has little or no grey hair...

I am certainly not saying ANYTHING good about the JW religion. I am just trying to say that sometimes our anger gets the best of us and we hurt our cause more than help it.
I am also saying they are NOT the only religion that does this. They all have little clicks where you may feel shunned and yet it isn't always so official like in the JW religion.
Each church you may go to has their own set of rules..if they don't like the car you drive..you may not be "In the group"..
If you have children that have problems..you aren't invited to functions..
Just some of the things I have observed in my years..
And yes, I have been talked to and socialized with even though I disassociated myself in 1975.
My JW MIL even asked her "Elders" if it was allright and they said yes. Believe it or not. We even got into religious discussions occasionally which was NOT recommended.
Just like other churches..each congregation acts upon the "Rules" differently. Some go overboard on the "Shunning process" and others just say..Oh well of course you can talk to them.
Age sees a lot of things...and as I said before..how important is being right?

Yes I am fully aware of the JW teaching..I was one for 15 years. Raised my kids to be a JW..Hubby was from a JW family and went back to being one after the kids left the nest so to speak..
I left the religion because I didn't believe their teachings...it took me a long time to admit that to myself.
The only point I am trying to make is that some may come across as obnoxious when trying to speak to JW's..maybe that could be one reason they "shun".
Catholics used to excommunicate..I don't think they do any more..the Witnesses are hanging on to their old teachings..I bet someday they will do away with the "Shunning process"..they can't afford not to!
I know the witnesses have hurt a lot of people. But seriously all religions have in one way or another done the same thing.
It just depends on how we handle it ..depends on how secure you are.

OMG..my daughter is 46 this year!
Where does time go..
Anyway..I too had my uterus out at 29..Yep. I'm 63 now..
They left my ovaries so I really didn't know when I went through Menopause..
I do remember waking up sweating and having to take a shower for a while..but that's it.
No drugs..
The Dr told me about 2 years ago that she would recommend it (Hormones) because it helps your skin..vaginal dryness..hair..in other words it was a cure all pill..
I too had doubts because of the cancer scare..so I never did take them.
My other daughter had a hysterectomy (everything) last year and took hormones for a while..but didn't feel like she needed them so she quit. She said she doesn't need them but her mood swings are something you don't want to be around!!!!
I would just read up on it and make the best decision you can for you.
Don't forget..high blood pressure can make you have hot flashes also..as can thyroid problems.

that's right... when you go visit the un building you are not allowed to bring any large bags with you, which includes a notebook computer bag, so they made me check the bag and they gave me a ticket so i could get it back later.. did you know that the 18 acres of the un facility is not us territory?
i was surprised to learn that it is "international territory" that does not belong to any country.. .

My JW Brother in law lived in Middletown N.Y. all his life. His Dad had a Taxi Co. (All JW's) that he inherited.. He drove in NY city.
I had the priviledge..of riding with him one time..scared the BEHO out of me!
He drives like a maniac.
They just recently sold the family cab Co. and moved here to Missouri to take care of my JW MIL. But he is a great guy..JW or not..
So that's the statue of them beating their swords into plowshares...
