I have a daughter of a old witness friend that I knew since she was born. she obviously has mental problems like her mom did so I just go with it . She is a sweet kid but was recently hooked on pain pills bad. She decided to go cold turkey alone to get off them but not sure she really went off them. Anyway she is driving me nuts with the Jehovah talk. I love talking to her but she is so dramatic at times..Extreme in her thinking..Her JW mom had a affair when she was young and left her kids with the dad. She had a bad childhood but having been taken to the KH when young still feels like she has to be a witness to be accepted so she is trying to go back . She is studying with a sister. She attends meetings on line.. Her mom is a witness again now and living in California but the brothers there called her ex husband here and said she is looney bins..they don't know what to do with her it ..I find that funny.. :). anyway seriously she says her disfellowshipped but trying to go back also dad tells her she shouldn't talk to me being that I wrote my letter of resignation years ago and do not believe it is the truth as they say. Sometimes that comes out in talking to her . the thing is it is reminding me of what my now deceased JW hubby used to say to me all the time about how I was going to die at god's hands if I didn't come back to "The truth". Plus a lot of other bad stuff. I am going have to break it off as I can't go thru it again. I can sense she feels guilty talking to me yet she always tells me she wishes I was her mom . In a way it is kind of ironic because it is usually them that breaks it off with 'Worldly People". Tired of hearing all the negativity from her and feeling it is time to move on. She is bedridden mostly so has lots of time on her hands and she plays all kinds of mental games with herself. I want to think happy thoughts and enjoy the rest of my life..not be reminded ot painful past memories of the JW's and their evil ways.. If you are still associating with them how do you handle it? Don't they depress you and wear you down?.

I have a friend that is considering going back. I figure it is her life and maybe it is something she needs. anyway we were talking about when she was little and she remembered a picture in one of the books where it showed teh new world with pictures of everyone around the lamb etc in paradise. I found a copy of the old Paradise book on the computer and ordered it for her but she said the picture isn't in there. I told her there was a picture in there that made my kids and a neighbor kids have nightmares for years about armageddon . It showed the earth opening up and swallowing people in a firry pit while Jehovah was saving his people. His people kept running and didn't look back. but she said that picture isn't in there either. Does anyone have copies of those pictures or can they locate the publications they were actually in? I know that the witnesses altered a lot of their publications but pretty sure they would have left those in. Any help would be appreciated. . .

Funny story about the daily text. My hubby was dying from cancer and I asked for the congregation to send someone to visit him. I had disassociated myself many years ago but Hiuby was raised in the religion and was baptized but didn't go to meeting very often until he got sick. they came once and then disappeared. Seemed there was a assembly coming up and they were rehabbing a house for the Overseer to stay in and were short of time to get it done. So when i complained about hubby being neglected in his time of need and his Mom who had been in the religion practically since it was formed.. :) also complained and got her men in her congregation to call and complain no one still came. Well they later said that John though Joe was coming and Joe thought John was coming but neither was coming .. When again teh complaints came in they finally sent their only available brother out to visit. He was at least in his 80's and mostly deaf. Well by this time hubby was getting weak and couldn't talk that well. So the older almost deaf brother decided the best to do was simply read the daily text to my hubby when he came over.. Well I am in the other room as I have no desire to hear any of this cra*. But I do hear the brother as deaf people tend to shout. the daily text was about a woman having her menstral cycle..I almost died laughing at the gall of it all..how dare him. He left after that forgetting to say a prayer even for hubby and I was outraged. i kept that to myself as hubby couldn't have cared less as he was lamost out of it anyway by then. But to this day I can't help but get a nauseous feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever I see the daily text mentioned. Can you blame me? After he died they came back and apologized and gave me the story about how each thought the other was coming to see him. . I loved my husband but in his last days he spent a lot of time on the back porch with his mom who came to stay for a week. He told me his mom told him that in the New World Jehovah will make him forget me and give him a new wife..to this day I see that day as my freedom day..they were out of my life for good. the days of hearing how I was going to die soon or the days of hearing how they were going to live in the new world and I wasn't because I left..How I was evil and part of the world. Oh the things I could tell her and the others about their precious son..if what they say is true ..he will be kicked out of the new world immediately ;) and so will she. And so will all the brothers that ignored him when he was dying..My husband did horrible things that they never knew about and yet sat in judgement of me who would never have broken any law of ten commandment for the life of me. they on the other hand ...yep. Anyway I ramble on..it just that when the daily text was posted about it took me back to those days for a minute. One that I never want to relive again and will never again have no respect for that religion again. glad I left them . The whole religion is a lie. BTW I have a friend that is going abck . She is bedridden and I think the only reason is her dad is also considering going back. Hid current wife is a wonderful woman but Catholic. I can see history repeating itself as they have both been recently diagnosed with some form of cancer. I feel so bad for her. He can and may make her life miserable. So sad.

by Snoozy inwas talking with a gal that is most likely going back to the religion after 20 or 30 years.

OK..just told her in as nicest way I could that I want to move on and not discuss religion any more. I don't want to do or say anything to influence her one way or another. Apparently she needs the religion and I don't. I know too much about it to ever want to be a part of it. It does ruffle my feathers tho when someone tells me I am wrong straight out..I never said that to her. I was trying to be nice and always say it is what they teach or taught..never said she was wrong. So who knows where we go from here. I do believe she is still abusing drugs even tho she tries to hide it. Her ramblings at times are unreadable and always in the wee hours of the morning..She likes to rant and rave about all teh pain she is in and how she got pissed because they have her marked as being a abuser of drugs. I also found out she has some kind of insurance that pays her $200. a day for each day she is in the hospital..she made a fortune recently..I think she was in 6 or 7 days and then talked about going back in because of all her pain. Beyond reasoning with her..almost ready to cut the strings...let her family handle her.

OK just got a reply from her..she states emphatically that the information is meant for the annointed that get resurrected into heaven and not for those on earth..Is that what they teach now? Black sheep I am so glad you said that as sometimes I wonder if my mind is going. I too remember them teaching no marriage for the resurrected on earth. I also think they changed it because for those not being able to have children now would be flocking to the religion that gave them that hope for the future. Telling them to forget about it would inspire a lot of them to leave..I went back and reread it several times and even I get confused at certain points..at the end their explanation makes it sound like it is for those in heaven but i don't get that when I read the original scriptures.. so How do I convince her now? I have no idea.

WHY RESURRECTION HOLDS FORTH NO PROMISE OF MARRIAGE
On the basis of Jesus’ answer to the Sadducees, some may be disturbed about his saying that there will be no marrying among those raised from the dead. They may even think that without marriage the resurrection is something undesirable, that it would not benefit them.

Ding I think she is looking for anything to connect her to the past. Her Mom is in another state and has disowned her. Her Dad has remarried to a wonderful catholic gal yet he too is considering going back. I told her I felt sorry for the wife as the religion will put a big old wall up between them now. Been there done that. This gals mom is a witness but is looney. she talks to god and other invisible people in her home. apparently he comes to visit her..:) The brothers called her ex husband concerned about her mental being as she was pioneering at the time also. Anyway this girl is like I said mostly bedridden and has nothing else to look forward to so she is going back to fairytale land. But when she made the comment about having babies in the new world It rang a bell with me. So I dug the info up. I was surprised to see it I really thought they would hide it. The gal told me that they have softened up on a lot of things now..I almost spit my coffee out lol. The reason this is close to me and got my attention is ..well first of all my history is that I was a Catholic that became a witness when I married my not active witness husband. His mom and sister were witnesses. Time goes by and I leave the religion. Wrote a letter to the org. Disassociated myself. So after that I was marked by his family. (and him). He was the type to alway tell me how I was going to die because I wasn't a witness, him and his family looked down on worldly people they didn't like and proudly proclaimed that they would die soon..fast forward to my hubby and his death . His mom came to stay for a week with us to be with her son as he was dying. they would go on the back porch ( i was not invited) and talk for hours. Later hubby confessed to me that she told him that God will resurrect him and give him a new wife and make him forget all about me. That was just another of her evil tricks but this time it really hurt. Hubby was dying and I couldn't even spend his last days with him in love. We were married for over 40 years ..I stayed when I should have ran. but I loved him .After he passed was the first time in my life I felt like a human being. no one telling me I was going to die all the time no one telling me how the JW's were the only ones that mattered. Even tho he would say these kinds of things and made my life hell he on the other hand belonged to a model airplane club and had all kinds of buddies that were not witnesses. Such hypocrites the witnesses are. So glad they are out of my life. If this gal does go back it is good by to her..I can't even stand slight references to the religion and the ever so slight witnessing to me in order to "Get her time in ". I know it really hurt her as she thinks of me as her second mom. I have known her since her birth and took care of her quite a bit while her psycho JW mom was out messing around with all the guys in the neighborhood. But that's another story.. :) I just forward all the info to this gal so we shall see. I am taking the info to mean that the resurrected will not marry . I did see however that they refer to the fact that the ones going to heaven will not be male or female so they are really confusing in their explanations..they pass it off as things we dont' understand clearly yet..which means you won't lilke the answer so we will play dumb till you die :) Love to see what her and probably her dad come up with.though. It really hurt me to pop her bubble..not. :)

So by saying that the resurrected are like angels and they have no sex, they are like eunuchs, doesn't it sound here like they are talking about the general resurrected and not the ones going to heaven? I could swear this is what they taught long ago. That any resurrected would be of no sex but like the angels.? Luke 22:35.

I got this info from their site so it is current apparently. It says no marriage for those resurrected so how can they soften it? Going to look up Luke 20:34.Sadducees Question the Resurrection
(Matthew 22:23-33; Mark 12:18-27)
27Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, 28Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 29There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. 30And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. 31And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. 32Last of all the woman died also. 33Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
34And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. 37Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. 38For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him. 39Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said. 40And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
