  Movies about JWs

  i have seen many movies or shows that make a passing reference to jehovah's witnesses but very few dwell on jws.

  some like a deadly devotion episode i saw once tells a true story but the portal of jws is all wrong.

  by movies i am not talking of documentaries.

  i thought i would post an encouraging experience i found today.

  i've been seeing a lot of 70-80 year old jws waking up, and their children are posting their experience on reddit.

  these are old elders, pioneers, circuit overseers who have given their everything and finally at the end of their life, are walking away.. maybe the key to waking up is that a person has to have a deep sense of right and wrong.

  Overrated

  I had to get out of Watchtower, the stupid rules and control over your one's life was just ridiculous. Then, the imaginary god that suppose to solve all your life issues if you serve his Organization that is self serving and is corrupt. Can't wait on something that does not exist. Yet there is alot of people still fooled.

  they enjoy being told what to do, how to think.

  it makes them feel safe.

  Watchtower imposes too many rules on it's followers that makes it hard for self expression and self improvement. Only by their standards that benefit the Org. Not the follower.

  What useful piece of literature have the JW produced?

  seeing on another post here about former jws throwing away literature.

  i am curious as to the various opinions on there value.. for me i have been inactive for 3 years almost 4. i still have alot of books and of course all their bibles ever produced (except a few from the 1800s.).

  in my opinion i think there are four books the jws produced that are useful:.

  The Aid book was gold. If you have one hang on to it. the information in it priceless.

  Was 2019 the last convention ever?

  in a recent feel-good instagram post about the 2019 international convention, a jw remarked, "was it the last convention we will have?".

  there is no doubt jw's feel they are truly special and that world events revolve around them directly.

  there is also no doubt that whether we get a vaccine for covid or not, and at the moment, its looking very certain that we will, that the world will continue to spin and life will go on, regardless of the beliefs of the jw's.. once the pandemic is over i'm wondering if some jw's will realise that even though they lived through a notable period of time, life kept sailing on, and maybe they aren't that special after all?

  Btlc- seems like that's common working for "brothers". They run their companies like Watchtower. If your not a pioneer or elder's son you are treated poorly. I never work or hire brothers because of this.

  You're on the right track. You seem to have some sort of plan. I would get mental help because this cult really puts a strain on the brain. By talking to a neutral party they can help you even more with your confidence, your goals. They may have resources. You will have confusion, but things will come clear the more you look into this. Just remember you have been enlightened, some will never see what you learned. Live your life is the greatest thing you can do. You're no longer stuck in a self serving cult.
