Where there any cases where members should not have been at the meeting but still managed to attend?

by RULES & REGULATIONS in

no matter if you are tired, sick, worked late, trudging through heavy snow, or any other reason, you were never to miss the meetings.

missing meetings is frowned upon.. i once went to a 2 day assembly with 2 wisdom teeth pulled the day before.

my gums were still bleeding.

On a Sunday, I woke up sick with a fever. My uber ultra JW Dad wanted me to get dressed and go to the Sunday meeting. "You'll feel better after the meeting!" I was too weak to even to get my azz out of bed. He went with out me. I was so sick I called a worldly friend that lived next store. I told him what I was I was feeling and what Dad did. We loaded up and went to the ER. After fluids and antibiotics I was I little better. My friend and I came to the conclusion that my father cares nothing about me, but more for the JW's. Reason 14 why I'm no longer one.

God vs ET`s ,why is one more probable than the other ?

billions of people around the world beleive in a god of some sort or other who exerts some power or influence to some degree or other in lifes affairs .. i don`t think there would be anywhere near that figure that would entertain the possability of extra terrestial life elsewhere in the universe.. and i find that curious .. the ancients didn`t know that their were other humans on other continents on this planet until they ventured out and found them .. we live somewhere in the milky way galaxy with millions of suns and planets that orbit them.. our galaxy is only one of trillions if not zillions of galaxys in the known universe.. look at the diversity of life on just this one planet earth ,what possabilitys could exist elsewhere ?

Longhairgal- very true. It is every man or woman for him or herself. The Org cares nothing for anyone but it's self, no one, I hope my parents wake up. I hope more wake up.

Has anyone still in or otherwise heard anything about JWs think we only have 12 months before Armageddon?

i’ve noticed a change in family attitude recently, like there is just something extra on their mind.

i even had to call my brother to check if he was dying and too scared to tell me.

anyway, i saw a video last night my saying jws think we only have 12 months left before armageddon so thought maybe this is the reason for changes attitude.

I thought Armageddon was going to start in 2075? They still need to build their multi media center for JW Network TV.

I welcomed the ideal of it. If my family wants to follow stupid rules of a cult, the cult can take care of them when they are older.
