i remember the watchtower and awake magazines used to have tons of articles on every subject you could think off.. history, medical, science, masturbation, dating, homosexuality, etc.. this was before the internet.

I took the creation book to one of my instructors at college in the science department. Got it back to weeks later filled with red ink. Lot misquoted incomplete information and one sided thought. Than at the end the instructor wrote that the writer's of this crap will more and likely get into legal trouble for the scientist they misquoted.

Seabreeze- At assembly halls they where charging a fee per person by congregation. Was with accounts. The reason was for lights and air conditioning. But at the rate the charge they over charged the brothers. They always had enough for operating cost.

My Dad is Rancher and Texas Oil man. Without giving to much way. One special needs meeting was directed toward my Dad because the brothers wanted money for a special "Kingdumb Project " how those who are better off should help. No ideal what the project was. My dad never gave them money. And what made it suspicious was the special needs talk was a week after the elder body came to the ranch asking for money.

Seabreeze- maybe I came off unclear. At every convention there is deficit. Outrageous charge for parking and head price to attend. Then, talks about giving your valuables for Kingdumb interest. Willing houses and property to Watchtower when you die. They don't say ask for it directly.....

Do the WT lawyers now dictate what the GB now do and say ?

I agree with Pistolpete- Watchtower has lots of money and is very stupid and continues the stupidity, does not want to pay or go to jail. Which guilty as they are they should.
