  never have i seen the society so unashamedly extend its hands in search of more money.

  Knowing her husband as well, it sounds like he wrote this obit. and I'm not surprised that he made it lengthy.

  Sounds like they may have been some nice to people to know.

  Mizpah:

  The stuff they said about her love of art just didn't sound dubbish to me. The dub obits I've seen are very generic, just listing survivors, a congregation, and time and place for memorial service. You're right, though, I bet it will be an assembly part.

  While I admire her devotion (albeit misguided) it seems pretty sad that attention had to drawn to the fact that her field service report is going to be submitted for this month.

  That does suck! But I'm glad they did give some insight into loving and creative side of the person.

  Sorry flowerpetal. I didn't think when I posted this that someone may actually "know" her. I just thought there were some very good things said about her and some of the statements made didn't sound like a dub wrote them. Also, the obituary is very long by the standards in my area. Dubs generally don't say that much about the deceased.

  what's with the rule that says that ladies have to wear a skirt/dress to all meetings/service etc.?

  Besides, wearing pants to religious meeting is disrespectful, IMO. I passed a church the other day and saw men and women dressed as if they were going to the bowling alley. Even though I'm not a believer, I think a certain decorum should be used when going to ANY house of worship.

  Many, churches today are going to relaxed "dress codes" and contemporary worship services supposedly to entice young people and "back sliders" into church. I, too, am of the opinion that a certain amount of decorum should be exercised, but isn't there a scripture or something that says "Come as you are"?

  in short, the kingdom hall i went to as child and teen, is being sold to a church.

  my mother (still active) informed me of this.

  well i got the impression from teejay that i can come across as supercilious; that i don't think i have any faults.

  so for the sake of posterity, i am herewithin listing all of my faults (that i know about, lol).i frequently don't explain my thoughts thoroughly; i'm in a rush and just try to write down what i'm thinking at the moment.

  this leads to unclear reasoning when others read my words; on more than one occasion, i'll admit.i'm too quick with the sarcasm.

  I'm doing low-carb now too...just lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks. Good Luck!

  Faults:

  1. My son is almost 3 yrs and I have still not lost the baby weight.

  2. I am very impatient, yet I procrastinate.

  3. I eat stuff off the floor too Stinky, except if it falls near the garbage can.

  4. I have a very short temper.

  5. I hate house cleaning.

  Qualities:

  1. I have a great sense of humor, at least I think I'm funny.

  2. I am a good friend and listener.

  3. I am a good public speaker.
