Where would you choose to live...in an ideal world. (fluff alert)
by Latte inif you had a choice, which country would you live in?
i feel that i belong in the caribbean, where the reggae beat goes on and on.
hopping around the island on those little busses where the driver plays fantastic caribbean music so loud you could almost miss your stop, now thats where i belong on this wet dreary saturday morning.

Has the Society ever considered night witnessing?
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. init could have merit.. consider - we have night tennis, night golf and a host of other nighttime activities that have proven successful.
so why couldn't the org arrange for a nightshift of witlessing?
those people that are recorded as nahs during the day, would surely be at home in the evening, and, the later the brothers called, the better chance they would have of finding someone at home.. i'm sure there would be many honest hearted individuals who would welcome being woken at 3 a.m. for a solid discussion of fable principles at their front door.

during the 2 years I lived with my family in Caracas, Venezuela night witnessing (6pm-9pm) was actually
PREFERRED over daytime witnessing. Reason being was that in a metropolitan area, such as
Caracas, it was well near impossible to get into a residential building during the day because the
concierge would never let anyone in. At night, everyone was at home and there was a better chance of
actually speaking to someone at their doors. Now this was the theory and reasoning used by the elders
and Ministry school speakers. In practice, people hated us regardless of what time of day it was!

Why do elders step down when their children are disfellowshipped?
by truthseeker inhi everyone, a question that has been on my mind for a while.. if jehovah appoints the elders, why is it that when one of their kids is disfellowshipped some of them step down as an elder?.
does jehovah dis-appoint them?
is this a scriptual thing?

by integ in'just when i'm about to get out, they keep pulling me back in"- godfather 3.. this quote does'nt truly apply to me, but just when i am convinced there are absolutely no redeemable qualities about the borg this really nice elder comes up to me and very calmly tells me how much i am loved and missed at the meetings, to not feel any pressure, and that jehovah will always be there for me, and that he (the elder) would too.
he had a very calm, serene, quality about him.
came off as truly "spiritual".

I remember around 1997 while I was slowly drifting out how one sister (who claimed to be annointed)
called my house one day completely out of the blue. She didn't wasn't even an attendee at my
congregation at the time, we were once part of one congregation that split up in the late 1980s. She
called me and asked me what did I think I was doing. I dont remember the exact reply I gave her, but I
think I told her to mind her own business, politely. That was just one example of how while I was drifting
away many many "brothers and sisters" feigned some kind of concern for me, meanwhile all througout
the years I had been a faithful JW, attended all the stupid meeting and assemblies, no one cared and
they would downright exclude me from their inner circles.

I WENT TO THE MEETING LAST NIGHT!!
by Mary inwell, we had the co visit last night and some friends "encouraged" me to go.
i really didn't feel like it, but i wanted to see if there was any "new light" on the pedophile problem, so i went.
not a word mentioned about any internal problems; however, the borg now apparently wants us to dupe people into having a bible study without even knowing it.
