  You made some interesting comments. You know the worst part about all this confusion? That what you provided is actually the "GOOD NEWS"/GOSPEL" that the watchtower preach! And they are PROUD of it!

  13 According to Revelation 12:11, after Satan the Devil was ousted from heaven, the Christians whom he accused “conquered him . . . because of the word of their witnessing.” The fulfillment of this has been another feature that Jesus said would make “the conclusion of the system of things” outstanding. What feature? “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end [télos] will come. (Matt. 24:14) This precedes the end of the “last days.”

  14 Such a witness, given by Jehovah’s Witnesses since the end of World War I on November 11, 1918, has enormously surpassed the international witness given during the “last days” of the Jewish system of things in 29 to 70 C.E. Back there the witness was given in Asia, Europe and Africa. Today it has been given not only on those continents but also in the Americas, in Australia and on the islands of the Pacific Ocean, yes, globally.

  15 Scoffers at this may minimize this achievement and emphasize that the missionaries of Christendom during the centuries past got to all those places before ever the Christian witnesses of Jehovah came along. True! But the Kingdom witnessing of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1914 has been something far different from what Christendom’s missionaries have published both before and since 1914.

  16 “Different”—how so? In that it has not been a witness concerning the kingdom mentioned in Colossians 1:13, “the kingdom of the Son of [God’s] love,” into which the 144,000 “sealed” spiritual Israelites have been transferred already. (Rev. 7:1-8) What Jehovah’s Witnesses have preached world wide since 1918 is something unique, something that has distinguished these as being the “last days” of the political, social, judicial, militarized system of things. It has been a worldwide witness concerning a royal government now set up in the heavens, empowered to oust the Devil and his demons from the location of its throne. (Rev. 12:5-9) Less than two years after World War I ended, in its issue of July 1, 1920, The Watch Tower and Herald of Christ’s Presence published the leading article entitled “Gospel of the Kingdom” and quoting Matthew 24:14, and, under the subheading “Work for All,” it went on to say:

  17 “The gospel means good news. The good news here is concerning the end of the old order of things and the establishment of Messiah’s kingdom. It means the dark night of sin and sorrow is passing away. It means that Satan’s empire is falling, never to rise again.”—Pages 199, 200.

  18 When the preaching of this good news of the Messianic kingdom as having been established in the heavens in 1914 has been done to the extent that God wills, “then the end [télos] will come.” (Matt. 24:14) So this final Kingdom preaching world wide comes inside the “last days” of this system of things. These are therefore the proper days for the final fulfillment of the prophecy of Joel 2:28, 29 to take place, just as there was an initial fulfillment of the prophecy in the days of the apostle Peter and his fellow apostles, as he himself explained on Pentecost of 33 C.E. So our “last days” are a modern parallel of their “last days.”

  3 Let the honest-hearted person compare the kind of preaching of the gospel of the Kingdom done by the religious systems of Christendom during all the centuries with that done by Jehovah’s Witnesses since the end of World War I in 1918. They are not one and the same kind. That of Jehovah’s Witnesses is really “gospel,” or “good news,” as of God’s heavenly kingdom that was established by the enthronement of his Son Jesus Christ at the end of the Gentile Times in 1914. (Luke 21:24)

  Paul warned us about those who you preach something beyond the good news about Christ.

  Gal. 1 6-8

  6 I marvel that YOU are being so quickly removed from the One who called YOU with Christ's undeserved kindness over to another sort of good news. 7 But it is not another; only there are certain ones who are causing YOU trouble and wanting to pervert the good news about the Christ. 8 However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to YOU as good news something beyond what we declared to YOU as good news, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said above, I also now say again, Whoever it is that is declaring to YOU as good news something beyond what YOU accepted, let him be accursed.

  I'd say the Watchtower's version of "good news" goes WAY BEYOND the gospel that the apostles and disciples declared and preached.

  Back from the Memorial

  well like i say, just got back from the memorial, have been going most years, but this year i went by chance (knew it was roughly at 7pm at the nearest kh) to my old congregation that i grew up in.

  i didn't find the "evil" people spoke of here on this forum, or those too stupid to see.

  all i did see was people i hadn't seen in years, and let me tell you, what lovely people they were.

  My response to this is a question to Scooby,

  Are you disfellowsipped or disassociatedfrom the sect /group?

  You may think that question is irrelevant for the love you were openly shown, but it isn''t.

  It will determine wether you are treated with love and caring, as Jesus showed and acted upon, or you being treated as a deciever and an antichrist by the Society's definition.

  So tell us all? I gather you are not df'd or dissaccociated.

  Your LOVING treatment ONLY depends on those two things. You KNOW that!

  If you were a df'd person, wopul you have recieved the LOVING GREETING you got?

  No need to answer here on the board, becase we ALL know the answer to that. Just something for you to think about.

  I hear ya, sandy!

  And I rember reading in a publication that the JWs are involved in a CONVERSION work. Yet they will deny that they are trying to convert you when asked. I know they will because I WAS ONE and I did just that. I denied denied denied! Have you ever read what the leaders of the JWs are told to say when they are doing telemarketing phone witnessing for the Watchtower Society Incorporated Publishing Business if they are asked who they represent? You'd laugh if you read it!

  So I guess they "care about your welfare" and "want to be your friend"...unless, of course, you're a food vendor working hard and trying to make an honest living. If that is the case, then they don't want the company of your sort, nor any patrons who may buy off of you, to mixing in with them. And I know food vendors have a hard time and it is a very challenging business.

  I wonder if the WBTS Charitable non-profit organization would accept monetary donations from food vendors? My guess is that they would. With NO QUESTIONS asked!

  New England Apostafest

  last year on memorial day a group of about 14 east coast ex-jw's met together in providence ri.

  i had the pleasure of being able to have most of them back to our apartment for dessert, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting local people with a similar background.

  i was able to meet zev, somebody, red horse woman, scumrat, sister act, doc bob & his wife, as well as others whom i can't remember their online names.. this year, i would like to get another group together on memorial day again, and hopefully we'll get even more of a response this year.

  I don't know if harold kept you updated but if not, he and I will definately attend. So I hope we are in the final count. we already discussed it and we are free that date. .   This what the hypocrital Watchtower INC PUBLISHING factory feed into the brains of it's PUBLISHERS in order to train them to be just as the Pharisees. (Mind you, this is printed for only insiders/PUBLISHERS/JWs in the Kingdom Ministry. PUBLISHED by their leaders, to see and read and NOT for the unsuspecting public to read:

  In the 5/99 Kingdom Ministry:

  "Some of the food vendors in the convention facilities being used are now demanding that they be allowed to open their food stands and serve the delegates attending our conventions. If this were permitted, many "worldly" people would be mixing in company with us during the day."

  So JWs want to be a friend to worldly people and "care about their welfare" ?

  Or do they not want to be "mixed in with their company during the day??

  Which is it?

  And I would love from JWs who attend assemblies and hear it "suggested" by the speakers on the platform delivering the "spiritual food" to invite waitresses where they may stop to eat or any other "worldly" people along their stops while attending assemblies for the PUBLISHING COMPANY to keep in mind FIRST that you don't want "worldly people mixing in with you during the day" ! What is the difference between a food vendor and a restaurant owner or it's emplyees/wait staff?

  What do JWs think about what they READ from their OWN leaders, compared to what they HEAR from their own leaders? If the WTS does not want "worldly" people mixing in with their PUBISHERS during the day, then why in world do you spend your DAYS going door-to-door trying to MIX in with them? Is it ok to mix in with worldly people for the purpose of seeking potentail publishers, even so far as to visit their homes? but not ok for "worldly" people to attend your "life saving spiritual feast" at assemblies?

  I say the WBTS INC COMMERCIAL BUSINESS give it's free labor workers the business in a BIG way!

  i am vivamus' mum, and i have heard so much about you, that i'd like to meet you all myself.

  i joined the witnesses in 1998, but i have always doubted the organization, but not the faith.

  i am still jehovah's witness, but i am sure that the elders will kick me out as soon as possible, should they know what my real thoughts about the organization are.

  I've just EATEN BLOOD & attended Catholic MASS !!!!!

  just got back from ireland - went to knock and attended catholic mass there - because i could .

  on the way to knock, i sat down for breakfast at a great little pub and ordered a 'full irish'.

  blow me, but there sat a slice of black pudding on my plate - so, again, because i could, i ate it .
