FayeDunaway, I find it interesting too. Because when looking up on any year of WT cds, USUALLY both Mark 5: 18-20 AND Luke 8: 38-39 are avoided. There is a reason for that.
And yes, I quoted from the NWT. And those scriptures have not been changed YET by the WTBT INC. Give them time! ;-)
(Luke 8:38-39) NWT published by the WBTS Inc. ...
. . .. 38 However, the man from whom the demons had gone out kept begging to continue with him, but he sent the man away, saying: 39 “Go back home, and keep on relating what God did for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what Jesus had done for him.

Per usual, I mix everything up. If any JWs are here, tell us all why the question was asked, " For what reasons does Jesus have the formerly demonized man tell others about what Jesus did?" after quoting Mark 5:19. When in Mark 5:19 reads:
NWT
19 However, he did not let him but said to him: “Go home to your relatives, and report to them all the things Jehovah has done for you and the mercy he has shown you.”
My question is, DID JESUS HAVE THE FORMERLY DEMONIZED MAN TELL OTHERS ABOUT WHAT JESUS DID in the said scripture?
Obviously NOT. So what did JWs do when reading that book/brochure? Was the book brochure written for NON JWs ONLY?

But Jesus tells the man: “Go home to your relatives, and report to them all the things Jehovah has done for you and the mercy he has shown you.”—Mark 5:19.
(Mark 5:18-20) . . .. 19 However, he did not let him but said to him: “Go home to your relatives, and report to them all the things Jehovah has done for you and the mercy he has shown you.” 20 This man went away and started to proclaim in the De·capʹo·lis all the things Jesus had done for him, and all the people were amazed.

Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The Life
Chapter 45 Jesus, The Way, The Truth, The Life
Did NO JWs notice anything?
I would suggest that JWs SEARCH ALL the Watchtower publications using that scripture and Luke 8:38 AND 39
(Luke 8:37-39) . . .. 38 However, the man from whom the demons had gone out kept begging to continue with him, but he sent the man away, saying: 39 “Go back home, and keep on relating what God did for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what Jesus had done for him.
DID ANY JW's studying the "Jesus" booklet/ brochure pay ANY attention to chapter 45 and notice ANYTHING wrong with the questions asked at the end of the chapter?
If not, one of the 3 questions are at the BEGINNING if my thread! Read it and answer it!

today, the watchtower teaches that the governing body is the faithful slave.

Maybe this is it?
"Jesus further said that his followers would not be left in doubt and darkness with the rest of mankind, for he would “send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other”. (Matt. 24:31) Also that he would have ‘a faithful and wise servant whom he would make ruler over his goods (kingdom interests) to give his people meat in due season’. (Matt. 24:45-47) The word ruler in the above text has the thought of distributor. It is true that there is only one organization on earth today that is “announcing the kingdom of God as the hope of mankind”, and that organization is Jehovah’s faithful and wise servant associated with the Watchtower Bible Society."

Q. about an old Kingdom Song (needs an old timer to answer)
by snugglebunny inback when i was a boy, we were using the old green songbook entitled "songs to jehovah's praise".
one of the songs contained the lyrics: "happy is the man who stays awake and keeps his outer garments".
i don't know what the song was called.. i'm pretty sure that the melody to this song was another rip-off from an already existing tune, in this case the maine stein song.

Interesting! I only remember the purple soft cover song book from the 70s. Two songs I remember some of the lyrics to:
"We're Jehovah's Witnesses, we speak out in fearlessness. Ours is the God of true prophecy....What He foretells comes to be."
And:
"But as for me, determined I shall be.....blah blah blah....In my integrity."
I loved the piano and loved singing but resisted the urge to just belt it out. LOL I've heard that there is no more piano playing and the music just sucks nowadays.

Two JWs came to my door recently. I asked one of them to read Ecclesiastes 9:5 for me. I then asked them if all living JWs are knowing or believing or are conscious that THEY WILL DIE. Neither one of them would answer but hurriedly told me about the dead. I again asked them to read the scripture over and asked the same question. Neither one would answer the question but tried to talk about the dead again! Hmmmm.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5 NWT) 5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.
Bolding mine. Just food for thought. :-)
