concerning those who renounced their christian faith in his day, the apostle john wrote: they went out from among us, they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us.
(1 john 2:19) also, a person might renounce his place in the christian congregation by his actions, such as by becoming part of a secular organization the objective of which is contrary to the bible and, hence, is under judgment by jehovah god.

excellent idea!!!

rather, he said: truly i say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur.
truly i say to you, this generation will by no means pass away until all things occur.
thank you skally,
It's interesting to note that this quote you provided:
Is anything to be gained, then, by looking for dates or by speculating about the literal lifetime of a “generation”? Far from it! (p. 19)
... “this generation” apparently refers to the peoples of earth who see the sign of Christ’s presence but fail to mend their ways. (p. 19)
…we need not conclude that Jesus was referring to a set number of years making up a “generation.” (p. 31.)
was taken from a watchtower published in 1995 ( w1995 11/1 17)
2 years AFTER , the wbts said this:
8/15/97 watchtower.
The number of genuine anointed sons of God surviving on earth is greatly diminished. Furthermore, the Bible clearly states that it is "on account of the chosen ones" that the opening phase of the great tribulation will be "cut short." (Matthew 24:21, 22) Most of those professing to be of the anointed are quite elderly. Again, would this not indicate that the end is close at hand?
Did ya catch the last 2 sentences? If "this generation" should not be concluded to be a set number of years making up a “generation" as the wbts said in 1995, then what the hell are they publishing anything about the anointed ( from 1914 when the choosing of the anointed was supposedly finished and no more could be anointed, and the door to heaven was closed to everyone else after that year) being "quite elderly" and that that fact would indicate the end is near for?

all new registrants must be referals now.
and the contemplations forum where the only really interesting stuff ever is (e.g.
the 'free to remarry' thread) is being made private.
nelly,
I hope the wbts let them stay open too. I agree that they are doing a great job of showing REAL examples of themselves to the world.
and I'm joining Thirdson and waving at the greatcrowd and WOL members lurking here. { waving hello to ya'll! feel free to speak up! You're all welcome !}

I don't find it odd that JWs ,once they've learned that it became public knowledge on the www that they think nothing of using surveilance equipment to tape their former mates having sex in order to obtain a divorce by a publishing factory's guidlines, would try to then hide it from the public. They are as deceptive and sneaky as those who they are a product of. Can you imagine if anyone from the media stumbled upon their site and read what they do? Dateline and other shows would be astouded, as they are with the truth about how pedophiles are kept safe and protected.
hey, did ya'll know that Tomothy was a Jehovah's Witness?.....
from the "Instruction talk on Timothy" thread.
On the flip side, Paul, being an older man, showed a genuine concern for Timothy, a "fatherless boy" in the truth. from the "Instruction talk on Timothy" thread.
I can see why that thread was QUICKLY locked up and moved too, considering that there were no JWs in the bible and it was WAY before the cult/religion ever exsisted. Just another lie to hide from the public/ WWW. http://www.witnessesonline.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/witnessesonline/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000228
looks like they know better than to even discuss the Bible when people outside the cult might see their discussions. Funny how they claim to go door-to-door preaching the Bible. I think deep down they know that they really are preaching the Watchtowers and Awakes! and not the Bible at all. That's why they need to hide their discussions. afterall, God's word isn't for those not deserving, and we all know who makes the judgement of who is deserving and who isn't, according to the WBTS. They self-appointed themselves as speakers for God himself. accordoing to them, they are the "higher source"! cept remember now, they are aren't inafallable. so guess God isn't either.

of a certain post.. someone here posted a comment that was made by a co or another higher up person on the clergical ladder of the wbts.
he said something to the effect of there being a rumor being spread by lying apostates that the wbts being a member of the un/ngo and that it wasn't true.
he said this from the platform in a congregation of jws.
hi Gopher,
Thanks for the link. that one isn't the one I was looking for but one I did miss and was a good one to show how JWs react to the society being a hypocrite. {sigh}
I'm now thinking after all my searching, that perhaps I read it somewhere on an active JW site. If I find it, I'll let you know in case you want to read it.
thanks a bunch!,

dont know if anyone pointed this thread out already or not but its pretty fascinating.
the incredible number of posts in a short time in what is normally a pretty slow forum shows how difficult a situation this for witnesses.
there are so many interesting and wacky comments being made there, you'll just have to read it for yourself.. http://www.witnessesonline.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/witnessesonline/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000092.
comment,
Thanks. I knew I read it in a publication from the WBTS but wasn't sure which publication it was. I'll have to reread them. Unbelievable, huh?
