Are you comparing apples and oranges?

The Red Cross does a great job, but their main focus is disaster
relief, not religion.
Its the same with those who provide for those in need on a daily basis, I applaud them, but that is their particular focus that they
specialize in.

Mormons help their own, why can't Jdubs? :-)
As far as helping the community as a whole, I suppose that's true.
The repairs on the 625 homes will not be a burden on the community.

Perhaps the Governing Body should have done nothing. Then they would have been attacked for doing nothing. I am sure those volunteers in Texas would rather be at home with their families instead of tearing out smelly sheetrock.

Yes, I would denote it an adverse event. It certainly wasted the resources of the responding police and fire departments. They could have been responding to other calls, instead of handing out water and insulin.

MINDING THEIR OWN BUSINESS: True, they were invited by the WT, but I don't care what group would have been using the facility, AA, NA, VFW,
Adult Video Awards, or JW, they rented the facility and deserved to be unmolested and to mind their own business.

TO CROSSROADS,
Regarding "INNOCENCE", when a crime or adverse event happens it is quite common to refer to one side of the party(ies) as innocent, ie.,
"INNOCENT BYSTANDER". The folks at the convention in Tucson were simply minding their own business, and therefore "innocent", no matter what their private moral lives are like.

Don't forget,your post had a "SPIN" also.
