I was about 16 at the time.I can't remember what I did wrong; of course every thing I did was wrong at that time according to my parents. I think I was caught riding a neighbor kids skateboard.
any way,I believe the punishment was to get my ass beat or get locked out of the house. A week before my dad was comming home from work and caught me doing the same thing; he jumped out of the truck and violently threw me in it {the truck} then proceeded to elbow me in the nose which sent my head into the back window and caused my nose to bleed! So I chose to stay out side this time;until it got cold , then I tried to get into the house, at which point some how the police showed up!I tried explaining my story to the cops and asking for help. theydidn't seemm to know how to help and proceeded to explain to me that I was a minor and that my dad leaglly had to let me in the house. AT this point my dad was pounding his fist into his hand;Iknew what that meant;so I started to plea with the cops not to let this happen to me. They acted as if there was nothing they could do and told me I should just go home; I then asked them to just put me in jail so I didn't have to get my ass beat. They said they had no reason to do so; So I started calling them names{stupid F'ing pigs ect..}hoping they would haul me off. Still nothing, So I ran out into the street{mind you I didn't want to do any thing violent to put me in jail for a long time just looking for rufuge from the abuse I was suffering and would have suffered};so any way ran into the street got their attention again{calling them names}and mooned them that got me shelter for the evening and got me out of THAT nights ass wooping.
Damn I wish I could have had a normal life!

Did you REALLY believe Armaggedon was coming?
by sleepy indid you ever really believe armaggedon was just about to happen?.
maybe to such a degree that you were scared or made major changes in your life?.
i'm not old enought to remmeber 1975 but with the gulf war a lot of people got scared and believed the end was coming ( including me).. werent we doing the revelation book at the time?.

Darn Smurfs

the cong i attended even gave a talk about their evilness.. roumor was one even animated itself [little plastic figure] inside the k-hall.. this led to my sister having to get rid of her smurf collection.. i'd have to say though at that time it made me happy ;being she .
got 2-3 new smurfs every week, and they woldn't even ever buy me a hotwheels car

How Active was the WT in the UN?

I could give countless expeirieces of my physical abuses;and I will in time!but for now here is an account of some mental abuse:
don"t know why Ididnt want a hair cut;but I didn"t.well I got one because I didn"t have a choice of course.make along story short;I had a worldly friend fix it;shaved except bangs [a.k.a.skater-doo].
of course I could only expect the usual ass wooping when I got home;well my mom sent me to my room"wait till your father gets home!"
so I did;here comes dad up the driveway;fear sets in;hear mom and dad
talking;hear footsteps coming;how bad will it be this time?
this time he walks into the room,looks at me and says:"you know at your funeral I won"t even cry for you, I hope it's soon"and walked out
what was I to think? test him of course;I wasn't crazy Iwas just holding him to his word.
they took my sister out to dinner that evening;
I then aquired a knife from the kitchen and waited for their arrival back home;they arrive to find me in bed with the knife in position to take my life;the fun begins!they actually call the cops and not the elders.
I ended up spending the next several weeks on the 5th floor at the local hospital[psyce-ward]at least no one there would beat me;in fact after nany questions they decided I was normal,my father was the one with the problem;finally they sent me home;I think I liked the 5th floor better!
things got better{I figured out a way to work it}ha-ha-ha!what was I to think? well I tested him

A most liberating experience
I was 16-17 years old
the last straw:tried dicussing marijuana with my JW father really getting nowhere with subject; ironically he said it was illegal;more ironically my dicussion was very strategic, we were in a vehicle with my sister also present.here's the punch-line:
so is drinking and driving and thats your 3rd beer!
infuriated he pulled off the side of the freeway and kicked me out of the car in the middle of nowhere,so I hitchhiked to our destination;
another brothers house.there was no further discusion,not even about the fact I arived an hour later,from where or why.
from then i played along for acouple of years so that he would not feel the need to beat the s#%t out of me for awhile.more drama later;if you like?
