by not interested inthis morning as i was trimming my beard, i was thinking about when i was a drone and the times that iws counseled about my 5:00 shadow at the meetings, and i rembered a time when my dad was told to go and trim his sideburns b 4 he could go on stage at an assembly.. at one time it promted a friend of mine and i to write a letter to the society, since they could change thier minds on doctrinal issues as the light gets brighter we thought maybe we could get them to change thier minds on this issue, (yeah right).
a few months later he recived a letter from the society the essence of it was like this : it would not be inapproiate for a brother to wear a nice trim beard but the elders in the local area would have to detirmin if it would be acceptable for the brother to be used in the cong.
and go door to door, as some areas might be more open to it than others.

I guess you must've been on-line as I posted my first question. Thank you. I confess I don;t fully understand the argument. Some on this site say Russell was a mason; you say he wasn't. If say, a person did everything in the world which suggested to all observers he was a purse-snatcher, what chance do you think he would have of being believed if he denied it?
For example, and you correct any pertinent errors here, Russell and Conley started Zion's (unincorporated) Watchtower circa 1870-1881. Conley, the methodist banker was president, and parted company with Russell circa 1884 when Russel decided to incorporate.(Zion and zionism are related subjects)
Zionism, while not yet publicly articluated by Theodor Herzl until 1897, existed within the Jewish Haskalah movement. It had as part of its theology the restoration of a Jewish state (Judenstaat). The European banking dynasties of families such as Bauer, Herch, Cassell Oppenheimer et.al virtually controlled Europe's political destiny. These folk were gradually making inroads to the Americas and Asia during this period. Many American bankers were Bauer's (Rothschild) agents.My understanding is that Conley was one such an agent.Russell and his ideas of a restored Jewish state seemed to be linked to the theology of the very secret societies that the Banker-families headed. Religiously, they identified themselves then as the Illuminated Ones within the guise of ostensibly benevolent and Christian groups such as Freemasonry.
Russell, by all appearances, adopted much masonic imagery. "Watcher", and "watchtowers" not in any wise reminiscient of middle-eastern construction, but mystical versions of a LightHouse and crashing waves reminscient of Tarot card #7. The Rose & Crown, Knight's Helmut & Weaponry , pyramid theology or dispensationalism is highly suggestive of Knights Templar links. These links are fairly extensive, and this is why I say that Russell was flagging to all onlookers that he was a mason and had secret masonic agenda. How would you reply to this?

Hi Mark,
I'm unsure if you're an xjw. It seems to be a cultural anomally for jws NOT to listen. On the top of the jw totem pole of poor listeners are elders. You're not "listening' to what I said. I said that homosexual orientation is the involuntary mechanism of the mind. I said that choice enters when someone decides to engage in homosexual behaviour or not to engage in the behaviour. Do you remember that? Statistics in Psycholgy Magazine a few years ago claimed 87% of male homosexuals experience the orientation, and that usually during puberty which causes enormous distress for most young males and to the numerically lesser, females. The word "suffer" is not always limited to mean adversity or pain; it can simply mean to "undergo" something.
What I'm saying is that I do understand the problem that sufferers of homoseuxal orientation experience. Life is difficult for them to say the least. Intolerance amongst a group that you consider brothers or friends makes life even more unbearable for something you never wished upon yourself. Suicide is a remedy for some sufferers, you know that. Now, the sufferer has five options:(i) Either he(or she) acquiesces to the sexual craving and engages in the behaviour,(ii) he remains celibate forever,(iii)forces himself into heterosexuality and the anguish that brings or (iv) seeks reparative therapy which, contrary to what the Homosexual Activists claim, is highly successful or (v) suicide.

Hi,
I believe individuals that experience same-sex sexual attraction will forever be ostracized by religious people for many reasons. Homosexual orientation is the involuntary mechanism of the mind that religionists will not try to understand; they generally equate it with homosexual behaviour and this is not fair. Equally, it may not be fair to throw Nicolosi and the WTS into the same basket.
Homosexuality is difficult to define. Many have sought to understand its cause. Mid-20th century psychological explanations were unsatisfactory. Havelock Henry Ellis may have been the first to propose a physiologic cause for this mystery and researchers of the past three decades unsuccessfully sought explanation in clinical studies. No hard evidence was forthcoming for a biologic cause. You have to see the issue in the light of efforts to understand it. To simply condemn homosexuality failed the individual who suffers the anguish when first confronted with the orientation.
The APA once considered homosexuality a mental disorder, but through sheer bullying by homosexual activists changed their position in 1973. Other individuals in the mental health field who maintain it has a psychologic cause and cure have been censured by professional fraternities and this is why Nicolosi et.al are ridiculed to this day. But you can't deny success; and Socarides, Nicolosi and others have aided sufferers to divest themselves from the orientation. The homosexual activists don't want this approach and perpetuate other myths for its cause. There exists a huge population of former homosexuals now living heterosexual identities. You seldom hears about them in the media and the activists don't want to know about them either.
Ultimately, it comes down to what the individual decides. He(or she) may find the orientation compatible and choose to engage in the behaviour. At this juncture same-sex sex becomes no different from heterosexual fornication as far as affiliation with any group, religious or otherwise, that deems it to be incompatible with their codes of acceptable behaviour.
Groups like the WTS, unfortunately, are not equipped to help their members with any human weakness or tendency. It is much easier to label a suffer and ostracize him or her, whatever the problem.

What I failed to see in your argument what it is precisely you DO believe. I'm unclear if you're a dualitarian or trinitarian and what definition of either you subscribe to.
I think the points you raised are easily addressed, but I'd like for you stipulate just what it is you believe so one could understand where you're coming from. And could you specifically define your doctrine? I am not pro-watchtower, but some of their doctrine is sound.

I'll say one thing about you---you sure are cuter than that Greek sister. I think the thing about her wasn't so much the urinating behaviour nor the fact she had bushy eyebrows and ear-hair, nor how the sloping skull ran into the eyebrows eliminating any semblance of a forehead, but her deportment; when she walked with that stooped gait her knuckles occasionally scraped the concrete. She was a bag! And maybe that's what those watchtower women were trying to tell you--they were so grotesque they had to wear bags over their heads so their ugliness wouldn't detract from their message. Now perhaps you can understand why they would be jeaous when you smiled---apart form my wife, you're patently more gorgeous than any woman I've ever seen.
