a couple of her friends chimed in when i suggested that perhaps the fb friend was really the psychopath.

by days of future passed inhave you ever been watching a show and suddenly, there's a reference to jehovah's witnesses?
i was watching an english mystery show from a while back and the main character hetty, was giving a list of religions that could have drawn off a young girl.
one of the "fringe" groups was tada - jehovah's witnesses.. there is plenty of other more well known clips like snl coneheads being approached by fake jw's.

When that happened and my mother was in the room but not really paying attention and she heard the JWs mentioned she'd go crazy saying "what, what did they say" !! and I'd say that just proves you're in a cult, do Catholics and Baptists go crazy every time they hear their religion mentioned on TV?

MCDonalds sells breakfast all day now, unless they changed their mind on that, but the only thing I'll eat from them is an Egg McMuffin. Haven't been there in years to get one since I can do the same at home.

Cause of Mass Shootings Mental Health?
by blondie ini have been sad to see so many groups and individuals say that the cause of these events are the mental status of the shooters.
i have looked over the backgrounds of these shooters, and few had medically identified mental health issues.
it is too easy to think that people shoot or kill other people because they are mentally ill.. actually, many or most people with real mental illnesses are most likely to be the victims of others.. i have been a volunteer with the organization called nami (national alliance of mental lillness) for 25 years now.

Generally, speaking, any weapon can be characterized as an "assault" weapon if you injure someone.
But these guns that they're using now, like the one the guy had in Las Vegas to just lean out his window and take down dozens of people per minute, why does anyone need to own a weapon like that? Even the people who enjoy to go hunting, if they used a weapon like that, whatever animal they're hunting for would have like 60 bullet holes are something, that type of weapon is "overkill" for hunters. I think only if you're on the front line in Kabul or something should weapons like that be used.

Hitting the fan: CD epidemic at my Hall
by neat blue dog inyesterday my congregation met for field service and the elder taking the lead did something not so smart: he brought up the child abuse situation and the recent news articles hitting local news across the country.
he said 'you can see that the persecution is really coming' and that we should be ready if someone complains about it at the door.
(funny how it's persecution when it's us and righteous judgment when it happens to the other churches.

neatbluedog - what that brother did was brilliant, warned them about the sex abuse scandals and with the typical JW pompous attitude blamed it on persecution, they started looking it up right there and nobody went out in field service that day, perfect!! Not the outcome bother pompous thought he was going to get that morning!

Walked away from bible study after 8 months

actually after a while what happened was a different brother or sister got invited each week to my study.
i met lots and lots.
