  had a friend that was just taken in by it and now am getting marketing pitches from them.

  Has anyone encountered this Empower Network get-rich-blogging pyramid scheme circulating on the internet? Had a friend that was just taken in by it and now am getting marketing pitches from them. Just wanted you all to know that it is indeed a scam. And when you try to do a search about it being a scam, the top hits are program affiliates "debunking" the scam claims. I have seen a similar scheme with a real estate pyramid scheme.

  I don't know why people continually get taken in by these get-rich-quick schemes.

  Satanus, I believe there is already a pervasive organized atheist lobby, which benefits from virtually limitless promotion through the mainstream media, academia, and the literati. Atheism is one of the few things that is politically correct. That is disturbing in itself. But my reference to Dawkins was to draw yet another connection between atheism and revolution. At best, atheism is guilty by assocation to the revolution, which was an Illuminati endeavour. However, it wasn't merely associated with revolution in the Soviet Union, for example. It was the driving force behind it.

  Regardless of the stated intentions, OntheWayOut, Enlightenment thought has served as yet another form of social control. It's just less obvious to the casual observer because of the feel-good jargon used to describe it. Liberation, freedom, enlightenment, fraternity, equality—who would view these terms in a negative way? Doesn't the Watchtower use love bombing in a similar fashion?

  mrs.jones, Satanism and the occult don't worship Satan per se. It's about self-worship, or elevating man's sovereignty above all else. This is the heart of the occult. Atheism seeks to elevate man's sovereignty through acquiring scientific knowledge, the same way occultists seek to manipulate nature through acquiring gnosis and using it for magic.

  I think it's unreasonable to assume that Enlightenment thought wasn't influenced by the prevalance of Freemasonry and the occult in 17th and 18th century academia.
