It also looks like Caleb ran ahead of his parents and did the door by himself!

They may have their little cartoons and can take IPads and other devices to the meetings but they still have to sit still and not talk and they have to waste their time going out in field service. They still can't play sports, clubs, activities, celebrate the holidays, go to college and other fun things. Not much has really changed when you look at the whole picture.

What Was Your Opinion of Elder's Wives?
by minimus ini think that many of them were saints.
some were bitches and others seemed like they hated their status.
many wives were very good examples and were more "qualified" than their elder husbands.. .

3rdgen, I understand what you went through. The same thing happened to me only once, thank heavens. A "friend" of mine became interested in another man and she told me about it hoping I would tell my husband. She knew I was going to let him know and she was fine with it because that is exactly what she wanted me to do. Eventually, her whole family left the religion shortly after this was revealed and their marriage broke up. We tried to help them stay together but I think she did this knowing she was going to leave.
Life is Short, I am sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience. For some reason in the congregations we were in they normally didn't handle serious matters after the meeting but scheduled them for off meeting nights. I very rarely waited on him and usually we were the last to leave because we both loved socializing.
It can be a very difficult life for an elders wife especially if he is a jerk!! I am fortunate that I ended up with one of the good ones and we both came out together. My husbands position was NOT important to him as far as needing it to feel good about himself. He was not the type to lord it over others.

Just like most people there were good ones and then there were the those who gossiped and some were arrogant. I was an elder's wife and I treated everyone with kindness just like my husband did. I never got involved in the gossip plus my husband never told me things ahead of time so I was in the dark about so much. I wish I had known more because it would have woke me up much earlier. I was a target of other elders because I had some health problems which caused me to miss some meetings and they tried to get my husband deleted but a very kind CO put a stop to it and told them it was not loving. I can honestly say my husband was always the kind elder and he would avoid committee meetings at all cost because he did not like putting people through that. There are always plenty of elders that volunteer for to do it so he just would never volunteer. I guess I got a little off topic! LOL

Not on JW.org: SIX Texas victims acuse Jehovah's Witness Elder & Circuit Overseer of sexual abuse, and bring lawsuit against Watchtower for cover-up.

dallas, oct. 23, 2014 /news.gnom.es/ six young adults, from north texas, all sexually abused as children, filed suit today in dallas, texas state court against three north texas jehovahs witnesses congregations (dallas, plano, and greenville), the watchtower bible and tract society of new york, and an elder.. sexually abused when they were ages 4 through 14, the plaintiffs were children of members of the dallas, plano, and greenville jehovahs witnesses congregations.
the suit states that they were repeatedly sexually abused and molested by an elder and an unknown regional circuit overseer, and that they and their families were threatened with discipline and harm if they disclosed the abuse to anyone.

I too hope this will give other victims the courage to file lawsuits. With their billions of assets I hope they can get to some of that money unless they are hiding it in dummy corporations.

It is nice to hear from you and I enjoyed your experience. You are right, we all need to go out and live because it is the best revenge and life truly is great, you can make it whatever you choose.

FuGK This Religion- Stop Ruining My Life!!!
by wallievase ini am sorry for the title but today just took the cake.
after not going to the meetings since august and trying to sort through this with my family, my wife today told me she wants to separate because of our differences over being a witness or not.. this is ridiculous.
so i said- how can you separate from me when the religion you whole heartedly believe says you can only separate for 3 reasons- abuse, willful non-support, or stopping her from her meeting attendance, etc.

Hang in there. If you love her I would try to save the marriage by seeing a marriage counselor, they can really help. They fact you don't have children yet sure does make it much better while going through this difficult time.
I may be wrong but it seems like more women will divorce their husbands when they leave the WTBTS than husbands will divorce their wives. I wonder why this is the case.

I had the same experience as Undercover and they can be freightening. I use to have them while I was a JW but very rarely do I have them now. I read an article about them and it can be brought on by stress which makes sense why I have only had it happen one time in 2 1/2 years.
