freemindfade. Yes, if Clinton was as obviously as incompetent as Trump, the press would be all over her. Prove to me that that's not true.

You people are ignoring the fact that during his eight years in office, Obama faced a constant barrage of unfavorable commentary from right wing media, along with fact based complaints from the MSM. You yourselves provide a litany of information on how bad Obama was. Did it come to you in a dream? Obviously you rely on some source for your information. You choose to believe what fits your world view, and disparage the rest.
I just watched a segment on coal country presented by PBS. A young man with only a high school education, was sitting in his trailer with two infant children, smoking a cigarette, hadn't worked for a long time. On public assistance and ACA and convinced that Trump was going to give him a well paying job. No spin on the story, just facts. He was white. I guarantee that if he had been black, and in the inner city, Fox would have skewered him as a leech, and many of you would have wholeheartedly agreed. And please don't deny it (note, I said some, not all).
It's simply a bald faced lie that Trump is being treated unfairly. He is getting the coverage he has earned.
The more fact based reporting exposes the lies of anyone, the better off we are.
I have principles, and they include the belief that you don't trust a liar. Obama and Clinton have absolutely nothing to do with what's going on now. If you think we are in a mess now because of Obama, you can't criticize him without placing as much blame on Bush, which I see none of the Republicans acknowledging.
Simon, you present yourself as a dispassionate observer of facts that prove your point. The truth is, you're just as opinionated as the rest of us. It's just that you're a master of turning around whatever is said to you. You are a superb debater, and I say that as a compliment.
I find many on this site that seem to share my viewpoint. I'll have to be satisfied with that. And that's a fact.

If the President of the United States is a liar, it is the duty of responsible media to point it out. How are we going make decisions about him if we are not aware of his failings. Likewise, if he and his associates are in a position to enrich themselves by being in office, I want to know about it. If reporting facts casts a bad light on his administration, that's his tough luck.
Balanced media is not reporting 1 good decision and 1 bad decision. If Trump tells 5 lies for every truth, than it should be reported proportionately. That's not bias, that's statistics.

Simon, unless you are blind and deaf, or only watching Fox, the media has been plastering the airwaves with comparisons of the costs incurred by Obama and Trump. Obama played his first round of golf in April after his inauguration. His vacation costs to the taxpayers were approximately $12,000,000 for his first year in office.
The hypocrisy is totally on Trump and the Republican's side, as they continually hounded Obama for vacationing and playing golf. In August, Trump said at a campaign rally that, unlike Obama, he would be too busy working for the people to play golf. Now that's hypocrisy!
Please don't insult my intelligence until you do a simple search.

I'm biased against Trump because I disagree with his rhetoric and his actions. If you agree with them, then you approve of him. Both opinions can be based on the facts.
Media is not lying when it presents Trump's speeches verbatim. It doesn't lie when it reports that he's played 6 rounds of golf in his first month in office. It's not a lie to say that his Southern White House excursions, and his "rally" cost the taxpayers over $10,000,000 for business that could have been conducted in Washington D.C. It doesn't lie when it points out that he gets his news from Fox and Infowars. It doesn't lie when it shows that he knew about Flynn's discussion about sanctions, and didn't fire him until it was made public. It doesn't lie when it reports on his Tweets, and it doesn't lie when it says nothing happened in Sweden. I've seen nothing said by Sean Spicer, or Kellyanne Conway taken out of context. These are not half-truths.
I choose to think these are bad things, but if you're happy with this, that's your right. Just don't call it biased or fake news. No matter how you twist it, or say "Yes, but..." IT'S THE TRUTH!

It may make a difference if you tell them that you will go somewhere local, and keep going to meetings with them.
My son stayed at home, went to meetings, so we had to endure the occasional comments and experiences at assemblies, where future nuclear physicists related how happy they were to be janitors serving Jehovah.
When he graduated, everyone was surprised at how quickly he had finished school. He got a great job, and was considered a prize catch for the lucky sister that snagged him.
He's a ministerial servant now, highly regarded in his congregation, though I hope that the cognizant dissonance will begin to kick in eventually. We used to have many family discussions about the flood and how long man has been in existence, so I know he has many doubts.

I do think there's enough evidence to warrant some investigating, if only to prove that Trump isn't hiding something. What other possible reason could Trump have to not release his taxes?

I was hit in a crosswalk by a drunk driver, luckily had a guitar with me and held up the case in front of me. I woke up surrounded by people peering down at me. Miraculously, nothing was broken, but I could barely move the next day. My guitar was not so lucky!
I was 18, broke, and living on my own, so when the driver's insurance company offered to pay for my guitar, the ambulance, and the emergency room, I jumped at the offer.
Later I found out it was the editor of a women's magazine, with prior DUI offenses. I've often joked that I could have made a pile of money.

I'm in a congregation with only home schooled kids that are a lost cause, definitely members of the janitor/window washer class.
My oldest son (degree in computer science) is a ministerial servant in a congregation where the majority of those his age have degrees. It's the "hot" congregation in our district.
One congregation is depressing, the other a delight. One concentrates on Armageddon to end their misery, the other is enjoying life.
My hope is that the contrast will wake up many (my son included) to the bad advice the Organization is giving on how to lead a "happy" life.
