DO U BELIEVE IN LIFE AFTER DEATH?
by Mary ineven though we were all raised with the firm doctrine that absolutely nothing happens to you after death, (except for those baptized before 1935 of course), does anyone here think that maybe something does happen after we die?
i've seen some programs about people that have reported having near death experiences.
while this doesn't offer proof, i find it very strange that one individual, during her nde, repeated a conversation she heard on an entirely different floor in the hospital while she was clinically dead.

I believe when we die we will find out what is in store for us but I think we go to heaven when we die.

ARE YOU UPSET THAT YOU DIDN"T GO TO COLLEGE?
by minimus ini have read of some people's bitterness because they were denied the opportunity to go to college.
during the 60's and 70's the society really discouraged any education other than what was necessary.
since the end was so near, especially around 1975, anybody that decided to go to "higher education" was considered very weak and unbalanced.

Yes I was very angry at first but at least I feel I am young enough to still go. I am in college now and hope to have my masters by the time i am 30.

New Tract-Youths What Will You Do With Your Life
by Scarlet ini was wondering if any of you have read this tract that was given out at the district convention .. i found in this tract they are pushing the fulltime ministry more than ever before.
they in so many words say if you are not a fulltime minister you are not serving god.
it stated that youths today should not strive for academic success.

Zepunk I really enjoyed your posts and could relate to you. About a year after not going to meetings I signed up for school and am now half way done. No one is going to stop me from getting my degree.
Thanks to everyone that posted you all really helped me to see that I am not the only one this upsets. I just hope my brother and sister are able to see the light and get out sooner than I did. It took me far too long. I know that If my husband wouldn't have left with me I would probably still be in it knowing that it was wrong and not God's org but not wanting to displease anyone. I knew when I was 18 I wanted no part in this religion and I still married into it at 21, I am gratful that at 22 I was able to leave and never look back or regret it. Even though I haven't been in 3 years I still was always quiet about it never standing up for myself. This site has helped me to see that there are other people that feel the way I do and I want to thank you all for being there for me.

HOW LONG WHILE YOU WERE A JW DID IT TAKE TO LEAVE?
by minimus ineverybody has their own timetable when it comes to leaving the organization.
some due to family and friends continue indefinetly.
others, when they see all the lies of the "truth", leave right away.

It took me about 4-6 years to get out after I started having doubts. I can't really recall when the doubting began but I know I wanted out 4 years before I made the decision to leave.
