Say, God, as long as you're here and you seem like such a swell guy, do you mind fixing up lesbians? I'd kinda like a date with Janet Jackson. And if she's not available, Christina Ricci will do just fine.

just about everyone i have talked to has started doing some different activities since leaving the borg.
just out of curiousity what would be your favorite activity?.
mine is flag football.
{{{Larc}}} And I thought no one noticed I wasn't around much anymore. I hope things are going well with you.
I've been really busy for the last few months, mostly sorting out personal matters (i.e. trying to undo some damage), plus figuring out what I want from life and planning/deciding how to get it. I probably won't be posting that much, but... it's still nice to know my presence matters.
All the best,

Writing. Definitely writing, and being absolutely free to tell any story I like, any WAY I like without fear of being "found out" or that God will kill me for it. *g* I'm working on a fantasy novel (I'm on page 46 -- yay, me) that I hope to have finished and edited by my birthday (December 18th). I'm also already *almost* famous for some of my fan fiction, if you hang out in certain circles. (Slash fics, anyone?)
Another thing I like is getting to do something I've wanted to do for a long, long time but never had the guts to try: dressing goth. The scary part is, my parents say I look GOOD that way! I guess my true self is finally emerging. Sooner or later, I should probably get my picture taken and post it here.
There are others, too (kissing girls, heavy metal (namely Drowning Pool), watching whatever movies I like, etc.), but I don't want this post to get too long.

i know that while being a witness, we were not really allowed to watch horror movies, or anything that smacked of demonism.
anything supernatural.
my question is, what movie or movies, since leaving the society, has really scared or upset you?
Heh, I left the JWs and immediately started exploring Wicca and other Neopagan paths, so supernatural stuff in movies hasn't gotten to me since my JW days. But I DID see a movie recently -- the only one I can remember -- that I found seriously disturbing: Hannibal. ::shudder::
It wasn't the very end that got me, though. It was the scene at the kitchen table.
*Rochelle, who still gets a bit creeped out whenever she thinks of that part.

is an example of farkel's work online?
if so, would someone please provide the link?
i've been told that it takes him up to a week to compose one of his pieces of work.
Jan,
Alas, some very few people simply have no redeeeming qualities. They live their lives entirely as what some call psychic vampires.
Interestingly, I've actually written a series of stories involving psychic vampires -- literal, not figurative. They're typically quite charming and seductive, these creatures who sold their souls to the Darkenss, and they feed on others' pain partly as a means of running from their own. You might say I know the type.
I really can't tell you much more. Even if you're right, though, it won't really matter.

Jan,
TJ is simply a fake jerkoff.
I've sent Teejay an e-mail over the present issue. Even if I disagree with the turn things have taken, I still stand by my assessment of Teejay's basic nature. He is NOT a bad person. Misguided right now, but not a bad person, and a very intelligent person who's misusing his potential. I hate seeing good traits go to waste, and I hate seeing basically good people do stupid things when I (hopefully) can talk them out of it.
I like to see the best in people and try to bring out the best in people. It's just the way I am, and for the most part, it's worked out well. I'm not as naive as you think; just because I'm an optimist doesn't mean I trust absolutely everyone. I'm just not quick to write anyone off completely until and unless they give me an extraordinarily good reason.
*Rochelle.
Small addendum. It looks like my faith here wasn't misplaced. Teejay... thank you.

Teejay, you know I like you. I think you're a very intelligent man with a strong sense of honor and justice. Regardless of assumptions that others may make about your motives, my brief interaction with you has, I think, taught me that that sense of honor and justice is where your actions come from. It makes you something of a crusader, I think; you're a person who likes to have a cause and fight for the underdog, and you may be a bit suspicious of views that seem too popular or which seem to be accepted blindly. In other words, I know your heart is in the right place. In a former life, you might've made a good knight.
At the same time, though, don't get carried away with it. Farkel... may not always be the most tactful or even the most likeable human being you'll ever meet, but he HAS written some brilliant things, and in regard to those, I think that his heart, like yours, is definitely in the right place. I won't slight him the good work he's done for others, even if his recent tantrums do disturb me a bit. And in the case of a certain recent thread, I would also give him some leeway for the difficulties he's been going through as of late. I know that pain and anger can make a person say/do a lot of things that they'll end up regretting later.
In other words, just let it go. Some crusades aren't really worth fighting, and I think that both your energy and your quick mind could be put to better use.
Your Friend,
*Rochelle.
