God will accomplish His Will one way or the other. Whether or not humans mess up will not hinder His plans.
every knee will bow to him, and every tongue will praise God
i admit i no longer believe in god and holy books.. thinking of the made up 'universal sovereignty' thing, surely if god existed in the way the holy books describe him then he could have thought of something better than humankind suffering thousands of years and the slaughter of jesus?.
couldn't god have said: 'well, satan is a very naughty boy but you all know how great i am so we can end it now.
i will lovingly kill satan and his mates and that's that.

Yes. The Word of God became man and is now risen - the first fruit of the coming age, his disciples have fought and gained victory over this world through Him, and countless others are being trained and purified through that same suffering Christ suffered, to be priests and kings to reign with Him in His Kingdom.

I'd say God should be 'big' enough to forgive Adam and Eve
God did gave Adam and Eve the chance to admit their mistake, and should they have done so there was little doubt that the problem ended there and then (Gen 3:11,13) and all will be forgiven. Instead Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the Old Serpent.
he'd have to remove the tree of life or they'd become Gods and could then deal with him on more equal footing
our short lives give a grim picture of what will happen if God allowed us to be immortals in our fallen state. we would've invented nuclear weapons a lot sooner, and would've wiped out ourselves from the face of the planet, and if not we'll experience endless senseless suffering from each other. of course, we may delude ourselves that in all that expanse of time we will start gaining wisdom on how to live apart from the one that is the source of Wisdom. The bottom line is that we dont really know what we are doing. At least I can speak for myself.
God could easily start over with a much better design.
"So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."
And because of freewill, its only a matter of time before some of those newly made creatures rebel against him, and will he start over again?

We have been told myths and half-truths our whole lives.
Grow up man and get over it.
as jws we were often told what the theme of the bible is, we were taught that it was the promised seed.. i was recently asked the question.... what is the main "idea" of the bible?.
for me the whole purpose of the bible is about control.
it features a god that punishes and rewards.

kaik - i think the gist of it is mentioned in 1 John 3:8..

Jesus had to confront everything Satan stands for and has assaulted creation and his Father with. He chose to die and to forgive those who are killing him at that very hour. It's all about principles. Love vs hate. Self sacrifice vs selfishness. Peace vs violence. Even if we dont believe in him, perhaps we can meditate on the works. it applies to everyone.
we should keep watching this list: http://www.grg.org/adams/e.htm.
this list shows the list of verified oldest people alive.
technically, articles in the 1960's and even in the 1980's indicated that "this generation" meant people born before 1900.. 5 more people, and we can officially celebrate another failed wt prophecy.. when i was "in" i thought that the wwi veterans had to die.... they're all dead... all of them... not a single person on earth now can tell you what happened when they served in wwi.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_last_surviving_world_war_i_veterans_by_country.
IMO, C.T. Russell started a group with good intentions in mind, as with many others. He even sacrificed his own wealth to finance it. He truly wanted a "pure Christianity", at least pure as how he understands it. He was initially against predictions, but was eventually coaxed into it, as his fame, his followers (and his ego) grew. Typical human fallibility. As I remember, Raymond Franz discussed this as well in his book, one of the tragic effects of starting a split group from Christianity is that it eventually disintegrates into shit as the old one from whence it came from did, and this is true for many other denominations of Protestantism. (that is why he didn't start a new one to join the party when he got expelled from WTS) Everyone believes his own version of the truth as "The Truth", and most often it ruins lives for good, despite the purest intentions to do otherwise.
I envy those who truly believes something higher than men, and actually lives and dies without actually paying attention to all these mess. I understand why so many starts losing faith because all of this looks like a joke (that is not even funny).
