The true story of the Bible regarding God's view of Genocide
by Christ Alone inyes, i already know the atheist's anger towards god, and the attempts to erroneously state that he advocated genocide, which .
i am ready to hear all the anger directed towards the god that these men and women state that they don't believe in.
they might as well be angry with the fsm.

Why should there be? And how is that toxic, to respect belief without evidence?
He has revealed Himself in the Bible. In the places where the stories happened - In Israel, the cave of Macpela, Mt Sinai, Mt Olives, all this places are real. But perhaps you want to see Christ Himself coming down from Heaven just like the Jews wanted signs. If there is an all-powerful being out there, He will reveal Himself to those He want to reveal Himself to. You will not be able to force Him. HE DOES NOT OWE ANY OF US ANYTHING. He is not obliged to reveal Himself to us. If you're experiencing pain, understand that I do to, everyone does, stop feeling so special and thinking that God should have shielded you from it when everyone is suffering from it as well. We suffer from each other's actions not God's. The organization's actions, our brothers and sisters actions, other people's actions. If you want to keep blaming God, that's the easy way out.
But please do continue feeling good about knowing everything, and mocking things you aren't sure of, that were here before you existed, your existence barely making even a mark in earth's long history, ignorant of the things that happened in the past but pretending to know everything by relying on historical writings whenever it suits you. We are all grown-ups and we can believe whatever we want to believe. This will only go in circles. Have a good life to you sirs.

Do the atheists in this forum need to go on a field day on every believer's post trying to disprove everything? Are you guys really that insecure? I guess there are some manner of truth in warnings of the watchtower - people who come here really are in danger of getting their faiths wrecked! there's no respect of beliefs whatsoever. very very toxic.

God created things which had free will. That means creatures which can go wrong or right. Some people think they can imagine a creature which was free but had no possibility of going wrong, but I can't. If a thing is free to be good it's also free to be bad. And free will is what has made evil possible. Why, then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having. A world of automata -of creatures that worked like machines- would hardly be worth creating. The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him and to each other in an ecstasy of love and delight compared with which the most rapturous love between a man and a woman on this earth is mere milk and water. And for that they've got to be free.
Of course God knew what would happen if they used their freedom the wrong way: apparently, He thought it worth the risk. (...) If God thinks this state of war in the universe a price worth paying for free will -that is, for making a real world in which creatures can do real good or harm and something of real importance can happen, instead of a toy world which only moves when He pulls the strings- then we may take it it is worth paying. - C.S LewisGod does not lie. It's people who lies and manipulates, and they can do it because God gave them freewill. And so suffering insues. But I like to believe that in all of this, God is in control, and that everything that happens is part of a universal, at the same time a personal lesson for each. Right and wrong, Good and Evil, joy and suffering, all this plays a part in the "lesson" each of us are learning.

We should not presume that just because they ancient, they are fools. It may well be that they possess more wisdom than our arrogant selves think.

for me, they contain moral codes as guide for my life and how i should strive to live my life if i have the ability to live it perfectly. as i am not perfect, i should strive to do them anyway. these moral codes are sprinkled throughout the bible, although not all that is written there is right, but some serve as really profound lessons and guides.

RC Church - Originated when ? Spiritually Strong Ones please.
by *lost* inbeen doing a bit of research trying to tie in together a few different strands.. not too sure what happened to christianity and how organised religion took hold again after the apostles died off.. i know jerusalem was sacked 70 ce.
but lots to fill in from that point onwards to bring us to where we are today.. if a few peeps could help to condense and simplify the info down into a few bite size pieces it would give us a starting point to begin to re-educate ourselves to the truth.
and fill in the blanks.
