Eastern Orthodoxy also teaches the resurrection of the body in the flesh, in the same manner as Christ resurrected in the flesh. It teaches that the separation of soul and body in death is an unnatural act as a result of the Fall, but mankind will one day be resurrected without corruption.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses the only religion to teach a paradise earth?
by rory-ks ini have tried researching, but this pesky organisation always packs out the list.
you seem to have to drill down several layers before reaching christadelphians.. is it a recognised idea among other peoples/religions?.

Do you like the people in the Bible?
by Dis-Member inthe society always speaks about all the wonderful people and characters in the bible.. they always too speak of many of them as being so humble, faithful, loyal, diligent, loving, kind, wise, merciful etc, and worthy of imitation.
also of how god blessed them followed by endless examples and reasons why we today should imitate them.. .
they also speak of how wonderful it would be to meet some of these people in the future 'new system' and have often depicted scenes where the the survivors of armageddon would be gathered around some ancient resurrected faithful asking them questions and listening to their stories of times past.

the governing body is a false prophet. are you willing to be subjected under the power of false prophets, and then be an instrument of spreading false doctrines towards others, inviting others to be subjected under the same yoke?
you can start by reading some christian history like the one from diarmaid mcculloch... :) it may not be palatable from a believer's point of view but that book is not afraid to point out holes of the christian churches

what else do you really have, other than this moment and the collective past effects of them
we have them as long as we exist and then we die and all our love ones, we journey on to oblivion, like nothing ever happened.. eventually the universe itself will die of heat death if we take on faith that these theories are true.

And, if so, why exactly would such expressions of love and appreciation be meaningless if there is no God? Be specific.
Expressions of love are good. But then, just like suffering, if we are to experience these things and go on and disappear into nothingness in a manner in which there is no difference whether we ever existed or not, what good is there in that? These expressions of love no matter how long or fleeting they will last, will just be a joke in the end, and a cruel one at that. It doesn't matter, if we are just accidents.

Or perhaps its your subliminal fear of not having life after death resonating within you?
Yes, and perhaps because of fear of losing the meaning of life in general. Take away God, that Love and Power and Grace (as they say) that is greater than us, and all life and meaning (for me) goes away. Evolution takes over - that we are just accidents that came through in time out of nothing, and a race of species that will disappear in time, meaninglessly - that all that is in the universe will grow into increasing disorder and then into nothingness - as law of entropy, that all of this shit is just a waste of time. Suffering has been discussed extensively in this thread - the picture of that asian mother with her dead daughter in hand brandishedly brought up from time to time to bring home the point. And we all have our own personal sufferings that we endure and go through each day. To go through all that, endure it, and burn in its fire, and then to find out that all is meaningless anyway, I would immediately end my life to save me all further trouble. After all, I am just an accident and nothing in all this universe has meaning.

No one can provide an answer because no one IS God. "For what man knows the things of a man, except the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God." Now I can (and did) provide an answer (which I think was quite naive but hey), but its all conjecture and theory really.
Why then do I persist in believing in God, despite all the bullshit in the world and even when I don't have all the answers? Because I can feel Him in my bones. There is no proof and there is no logical explanation, it's a conviction beyond human words.
Good day to you all.

I was "totally" stopped in my tracks by an "atheist" comment.
by booker-t ini must admit i can at times be a little "egotistical" when it comes to knowledge and the bible.
i have studied the bible for so long and have always had a passion for the bible as a jw and as an ex-jw.
i guess that is all i have left when it comes to religion and as humans we do tend to stroke our egos.
