The Watchtower sent about 100,000 new Bibles to Cuba. This was done early in comparison with other countries, it came out to about one per publisher; it seems like this was based on the fact that the majority of the witnesses don't have internet access or tablets.
The impact was huge among the flock and they saw as a caring expression form "mother". The Bibles were printed and shipped from the Japanese Branch.

Not supporting this gentleman or his actions, but there seems to be a contradiction in his way of living; dressed as any other old timer on a weekend, buying liquor (maybe taking advantage of a special sale); and the most telling item is the car that he is driving, according to some of the comments it looks like an almost 20 year old auto (here in USA people change cars at about 5-7 years).
Maybe he is just a regular guy and his professional image is just “food for the Bubbas”.
After pointing all this, he deserves all the scorn and criticism that he is getting for what he has done to others.

The defense lawyers of the victim, Hugo Flores and Luis Miguel Espino, who, in 2018, denounced the pedophilia within the Catholic Church, today filed a complaint with the north one delegation of the Attorney General's Office of the State against a "Pastor" of the Jehovah's Witnesses, who appears as alleged responsible for the sexual abuse of the minor.
The facts, according to the lawyers, occurred in the church of that organization, located in the ejido Villa de Fuente, where the alleged perpetrator and member of the Jehovah's Witnesses of 31 years, sexually abused the young woman repeatedly from years ago.
Regrettably, they said that, according to the laws of that religion, they have to be brought to a trial inside the temple by the group of elders that governs and then the authorities.

Many of the oldtimers might remember that in the distant past the success of the preaching work was measured by placements (sales). There was a large information board in the lobby of the Kingdom Hall and service figures were listed there on a weekly basis, no different than any sales organization.
At the Conventions the juiciest experiences were of the people that had the best numbers of placements. All of this collapsed with start of the voluntary contributions, the service work has never recovered from that.

the family that i inputted into the system was a married couple with four minor dependents, their income was $44000.00 annually and they paid $2100.00 in taxes during the year.. after completing the calculations, this family is getting a refund of $9981.00; the bulk of it are earned income credit $2191.00 and additional child credit $5600.00.

The Origin of Tax Withholding
So where did the withholding tax come from? It was not part of the original income tax that resulted from the sixteenth amendment in 1913. Very few people paid any taxes back then anyway. The income tax did not directly affect the average American until World War II.
On the eve of the war, few Americans paid income taxes. Those that owed taxes paid them in one lump sum on March 15 (later changed to April 15). To pay for the war, the Revenue Act of 1942 lowered exemptions and raised income tax rates. But it also did something even more insidious—it instituted a 5 percent "Victory Tax" on all wages above an exemption of $624. The tax was to be collected by the employer and deducted from the employee's paycheck—just like the Social Security tax that began in 1935.
The Current Tax Payment Act of 1943 then revolutionized the income tax by making withholding taxes universal. The withholding tax was part of the new tax plan offered by Beardsley Ruml (1894–1960), the chairman of the New York Federal Reserve Bank and treasurer of R.H. Macy and Co. By 1945, about three-fourths of Americans were paying federal income taxes. And although the withholding tax was sold as a wartime emergency, like most expansions of government instituted during wartime, it has been a way of life for most Americans ever since.

The income tax allows the government to confiscate the wealth of its citizens. The curse of the withholding tax is that it allows the government to commit this crime systematically, effortlessly, painlessly, and benevolently.
