Fidel Castro and the WT
by Hecce ini am going to engage on a trip to the past and share with you some of the matters that marked the beginning of the jws persecution in cuba.
you will be surprised that the pattern that was followed is very similar to what happened in other dictatorial countries.. in the cuban case, i am going to surprise you and tell you that like what happened with hitler; the wt was partially responsible for their clash and confrontation with the cuban government.
during the early 60s the revolution was fighting for survival and they were willing and ready to demolish any perceived enemy to their cause.. a prime example was their war against the catholic church that was the most influential religious entity in the country; it took the supreme leader only a few public discourses to send the vast majority of clergy packing and back to their country, in this case spain.. the jehovah’s witnesses were an insignificant minority but they over estimated their importance and displayed a belligerent attitude, it was known that this was a us based religion and an easy target to connect them with the cia.

One of the groups that were more affected by the system were the children. School was a nightmare for them, they had to face the flag salute and other patriotic symbols that they refused to honor and also all the children had to be part of an organization call "Pioneros" that was basically similar to the German and Soviet youth corps. This was a constant battle for the children and also the parents. -

Did you participate in a Drama?
by Hecce ini am bringing this up because even it was a lot of work, for the majority of the friends this was a rewarding experience.
camaraderie, joking, costumes, props and when the time came the celebrity status of being in the drama.. back in the 50s and 60s, conventions could be as long as 8 days and from about 1966 the dramas became an integral part of the program.
we had one per day and the brothers looked forward to their presentation.

I do remember that drama about Joseph from around 1966 as the first one that I saw, maybe because of that some of the actors and scenes stayed with me. I do remember that Pothifar's wife was named Aknettha, and her exchanges with Joseph were X rated; for those two roles they required a husband and wife combination . To give you an idea as to the why, when Aknettha is seducing Joseph she tries to get him in bed by saying "come to my interior chamber and lets enjoy the fruits of our consummated love".
The sister that acted this part was very well endowed, fit the role perfectly but sadly a little bit after the drama suffered an stroke and was half paralyzed.

One thing that was completely out of place in the dramas was the actors attire, the instructions recommended old clothing or canvas to made the dresses with a worn out appearance. It never happened, the friends were always radiant in their brand new costumes. -

Why is it ok for witnesses to go to Church backed hospitals?
by stuckinarut2 inif witnesses should "get out of babylon the great" then why is it ok to go into hospitals that have been set up, and have funding from churches?.
isnt that a little contradictory or hypocritical?.

Jehovah's Witnesses - People of Integrity
by Saved_JW inwhen i think of integrity, a lot of positive connotations come to mind.
i think of individuals grounded in principles, who do not operate on opinions that change based on the breeze of political or social change.
a life that is directed by a code of morality, not on capricious emotions.

JWs are no different that the what they call worldly people, the majority are good but they have some rotten ones. I was witness to a case where an account overseer stole about $32,000.00 from a construction fund by falsifying the records.
He was DF but the money was never recovered.
