i've noticed a comprehensive revision to this board in reference to the history of topics and posts.there has been a total reboot.are my 1700 topics gone forever or is there a repository someplace?thanks.
Reading this topic a question came to my mind:
Could be possible to change the user name and keep the same account with the old topics?
I am in the dark ages on this, that's the reason for my question.
Regards
i was just going through some of my talk outlines and i've decided to git rid of quite a few of them.
i'm still serving, but as time goes on... there are many subjects i will not teach anymore.. i got rid of the outlines dealing with blood, the field ministry, and ones talking about 607 and 1914. i can barely stand hearing them let alone give them.
in fact, talk 41 "stand still and see the salvation of jehovah" is one i got rid of because its whole point was about having blind obedience toward the gb and the elders during the great tribulation, and that we need to start practicing obedience now if we want to survive.
There is not any extemporaneous presentation, if you don't say what is written on the outline you will be call to the small room. For that reason plenty of friends are not giving public talks.
in an effort to reduce the number of posts, this year i will try to add links to this post.
now, on with the leaks & releases!
first up.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nzvwhflss4.
I wrote about the Cuban experience and the WT failure protecting the friends.
I hope that the current generation is more smarter than we were and will realize that if and when the day comes is going to be "every one for himself".
what do you guys think?.
are they only some uber religious zealots or do they pursue hidden agendas beyond religiosity?.
I think that every version of WT leaders, including the present GB worked under the assumption that they knew what they were doing. Past history shoes how mistaken they were; the actual leaders didn't participate in building the Empire and they don't have much doubts about dismantling it.
It is very possible, almost a certainty that they are following advice from some outsiders, maybe even commercial advisers. I don't see too much foresight in what they are doing and it is possible that the effects will be seen not by us but by the next generation that will see a complete different religion.
In the process they are discarding the old generation of JWs.
i am going to engage on a trip to the past and share with you some of the matters that marked the beginning of the jws persecution in cuba.
you will be surprised that the pattern that was followed is very similar to what happened in other dictatorial countries.. in the cuban case, i am going to surprise you and tell you that like what happened with hitler; the wt was partially responsible for their clash and confrontation with the cuban government.
during the early 60s the revolution was fighting for survival and they were willing and ready to demolish any perceived enemy to their cause.. a prime example was their war against the catholic church that was the most influential religious entity in the country; it took the supreme leader only a few public discourses to send the vast majority of clergy packing and back to their country, in this case spain.. the jehovah’s witnesses were an insignificant minority but they over estimated their importance and displayed a belligerent attitude, it was known that this was a us based religion and an easy target to connect them with the cia.
And to think that all the persecution, suffering, trials and tribulations were all for nothing. The actual JW organization has nothing to do with the way that we practiced our faith and endured.
not based on any major reliable information, just spiritual gossip among some very weak spiritually friends.. since the wt has made monumental changes in personnel, including bethel and cos; some are speculating that eventually there will be a cutback in the number of elders in a congregation and a return to the 1930-1970 servant’s model.. i can see some good reasons for this:.
poor quality among the elders, maybe one or two are really carrying the entire load.
the merging of the congregations will create a glut of elders strange to each other, the more that they have the more conflicts in the making.. the duties of the elders have been decreasing and most of the decisions are made upstairs.. the pre 1970 arrangement worked really well and it will take the wt less than 1-3 to find a biblical basis to bring it back.. friends, just some saturday morning thoughts.. thanks for reading..

I don't see all the elders involved in the congregation operation, normally two or three are the ones leading (this is due to experience, capacity and so on).
If they merge congregations we might see 12-15 elders together in one group and I think that will be "too many chiefs, no Indians".

better reward than a title?
That is exactly the point, the majority just have a title and do very little in terms of productivity. To me it was impossible to do away with the Circuit Overseers and it happened, so I don't discounted.
Once again this are just ramblings.
