Early 70s?
Since the public talk was "public" there was a 15 min break from the public meeting to the Watchtower Study.
i was doing some research on another topic and i came across this from the march 1950 watchtower.... absence of prayer at public meetings!november 17, 1949dear brother:answering your query of the 9th instant regarding the absence of prayer in opening and closing our public meetings:it is certain that the public does not come to our public lectures in our kingdom hall or elsewhere to hear us pray, but do come to hear the advertised subject spoken upon by the speaker announced as competent to handle it.
our exemplar jesus held many public lectures, but there is no record that he opened or closed any of them with prayer.
there is no bible record that he opened up the sermon on the mount with prayer, or those open-air lectures after which he fed the multitude, first the 5,000 and then the 4,000. but there is a record that when he thus fed the multitudes he did offer prayer of thanksgiving to god before breaking the bread and fish and distributing the pieces to the hungry crowds.

i recently caught up with an old friend who lives in fremont, ca (yes, the same fremont where candace conti is from).
it’s a good-sized suburb of san jose, with around a population of 230,000. i lived there for a few years during the 90’s, and at the time there were 7 english jw congregations with the following names:.
north, central, south, niles, warm springs, mission hills, and irvington.
Happening all over, without the Northern California mitigating factors:
i went with my husband tonight for the first time.
it was pretty appalling how they lied about the 144k and everyone else.
then passing the wine and bread for nothing.
One item, on the one that I listened the name Jehovah was mentioned only once.
did anybody (who went to the memorial) notice the opening song?.
keep in mind that this is the most important night of the year for the witnesses.
it is supposed to be all about jesus christ.
I noticed that they did not mention the number of partakers from last year like they normally do. Kinda hard to explain when that number keeps going upThe number was mentioned (15k) here and the speaker said the fact that it is a small number is proof we are in the time of the end.
this is the last boe we will be able to provide.
our informant or source, was caught, disfellowshipped, and thrown out of bethel.
we knew that sooner or later the watchtower would find him out.
No further news?

8. Determining Who May Participate: The Congregation Service Committee will select qualified publishers to participate in this feature of the ministry. Those selected should be known to present themselves in a dignified way. Their appearance and dress should be professional, well-arranged, and modest. Those selected should demonstrate discernment and a willingness to witness in different public settings, should enjoy and promote good relations with others, should be committed to taking the assignment seriously, and should be willing to cooperate with the body of elders.
This caught my attention, recently a friend told me that he went to a Book Fair and that the WT had a kiosk, it was attended by younger people, all good looking, wearing uniforms like baristas. My friend told me that they looked more like Mormons than JWs.

There was a letter from 2014 instructing to be away from the cart, a most recent letter just says not to approach people and engage only when they approach you; maybe that is the reason why the sisters are keeping their distance.
pesident trump authorized the missile strike because “it is in the vital, national security interest of the united states to prevent and deter the use of deadly chemical weapons.” .

Bad if truth:

jehovah's witness accused of child molestation claims 'false allegations' .
he is charged with 9 felony counts of lewd/lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14 and 1 count felony kidnapping for child molesting.
This was a case from a Spanish Congregation, it is normal for a few JW families to live close by in the same apartment building and have a lot of confidence with their children care and the other families. A formula for disaster.

4. Site Permission and Insurance Coverage: In some public locations, permission may be needed from a manager or secular authority before setting up a literature display. The service overseer or someone else designated by the body of elders should determine what may be legally required, if anything, in the way of permissions, permits, and insurance coverage. Any application to use a mobile cart or to set up a table or kiosk to display literature must be filled out in the name of an individual publisher, not in the name of the congregation, any corporation used by the organization, or “Jehovah’s Witnesses.” If a small administrative fee is needed in order to acquire space in a public area, it is to be paid by the individual publisher, not the congregation. Publishers should carefully review any such applications to see what responsibility they are taking upon themselves with respect to liability and possible proof of insurance coverage. Publishers who apply to distribute literature at these areas are doing so on their own initiative as part of their personal ministry.
5. At times, administrators or managers have waived insurance requirements when the voluntary and non-commercial nature of our Bible educational work was explained to them. Any meeting that is held with a location’s manager should be informal, such as one between neighbors in a community, and not a discussion of legal rights. If this meeting is unsuccessful or an excessive fee is required, the body of elders should identify other public areas within their congregation’s territory where public witnessing equipment could be used effectively
