  i want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.

  i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.

  i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

  Unlearn your point is well taken, I hope others can see the issues Facebook open's up for others with "Force Adding" and management and moderators who move at the speed of "peak evolution (is that slower than regular evolution?) to remove a problem or issue that could harm someones's true identity.

  One thing others need to learn on JWN is what Simon has stated time after time, don't give anyone your ID on JWN you are not confident in giving it too. They might pressure you or justify "you owe them your real name" but in reality, you do not! You owe nothing to nobody and luckily to the brother who was almost out'ed, he was able to do some damage control and remain safe! We don't need a website where you are punished for speaking your mind and it's possible for them to broadcast your face all over Facebook!

  As a former elder you had plenty of friends and associates you surgically tried to remove yourself from, it's the only way to do it when you have business relationships, family and children who are stuck in this morass! Thank's "Unlearned" for helping reinforce what I already knew, peace to you and your family!

  Glander's aides were hearing the babies screaming in the "Killing Room" and nobody was doing a thing. This guy is a murdering bastard who I hope will burn in Hell if there is a Hell!

  If you want to get really gory and see how we are currently in a chapter of "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley, Isreal has been taking the eggs from aborted female babies and trying to inseminate parents with problems conceiving. Isreal is also using the eggs they harvest from dead babies to grow in their petri-dishes. How far we head down the lane of No Morals, No God and Anything Goes!

  Where do ethics come into the world of medicine? We use to have a doctor killing a 5lb baby (Partial Birth Abortion) as they try to save a 2lb baby in some Nick-ER. The Chinese have learned the gruesome methods of killing infants for thousands of years (Drowning Pools), Exposure to the Sun and Vulutres, do some homework on the Chinese Government who force mothers to kill their babies even if they are seven to nine months into the pregnancy. Mothers are told to pay off the local offices $3000 US and he will look the other way even though the second child will never have rights and gain citizenship in some Chinese Providences!

  When a human compares the ruthlessness of the Chinese who will drag mothers out of their houses screaming and force them to abort their child, it gives you even more respect for countries like India who might seem bad now but have a higher regard for life.

  Since I double posted, let me say again, THANK YOU SIMON FOR ALLOWING US TO ENGAGE AND KEEP EVERYONE AND EVERY THREAD CLEAN!

  Where was the "thread" locked out on? It goes for pages and pages, when did the thread get locked out, and which page was the end of Cedar's conversation? There's so much more to say regarding what events transpired, we become our own investigative journalist if we are allowed to debate "touchy subjects" even when a group might wish we never know the truth (kinda like the Watchtower who pushes for their totaltarian regime.). With this said, I wish Lady Lee the best of luck and hope she is not hood-winked or screwed over after the AAWA Debacle!

  It would be a dreadful thing for any lurking JW to wander to AAWA after realizing the nasty Stasi style action they take against their own kind. I think any active or fading Jehovah's Witness needs to think twice about joining any Facebook Page where retaliation is possible and action to remove negative outcomes move's at "the pace of evolution!", "Stupid Is What Stupid Does!", please rethink your position because eventual a mole is going to get inside, and what will you do than?

  Simon has proven a reliable source and destination for Jehovah Witness lurkers and active board members who cherish their annonominity, we have such a elastic board, why head to a control freak's website where your opinion will be moderated and you could be slammed for opposing the Boss Hog? Maybe I am paranoid, but that does not mean their not watching!

  Simon, why would someone lock the thread when there was more to be said about the AAWA contraversy? Sure, Cedars would have loved to close the thread down like a child who yell's (I got the last word or it's my ball and I am outta here!) but why close it? To engage in conversations and debates is not evil when alternative explanations or points of view need to surface. I am glad you opened up a "closed thread" to allow the conversation to finish its eventual destination.

  I think this shows how dynamic JWN and ExJW dialogue is, we are not so paranoid and weak we try to cover up mistakes and shine the light on another's erroneous thinkings or deeds. We are no better than The Tower if refuse to accept criticism or critcal remarks about our method of opperations. The scientific community is not above reproach if their theories and gadgets are a miserable failure, so it is with us, if we are to be a better agency than that which we left behind, we need to embrace any good constructive criticism, otherwise we are nothing more than a Bizzarro version of the Watchtower Organization which embraces "fear, group shunnings, half-truths, theocratic lying, and education on how to improve the Whole. Thank's Simon for taking us above our begining and allowing everything to be examined no matter where the cards drop! Your a good brother!

  Just to be clear so there are no misunderstandings on what happened ... Cedars posted a kind of 'wrap up' post to the original AAWA topic basically declaring it finished and the topic was locked shortly after. I didn't know why it had been locked and there was no reason that it needed to be locked. Therefore, I unlocked it with a comment to that effect. Normally, when something like that happens and there is any debate about the decision it's done in admin. Instead Lady Lee posted publicly that it was locked because Cedars had asked her to lock it, and then locked it again. That was when I made it clear more pointedly that the topic should not be locked and that Cedars was not a moderator of this site and the moderation should be done according to this sites rules, not at the bidding of the AAWA. This was so she wouldn't be put in a difficult position of them asking her to take actions on the site that obviously didn't fit with this site's rules. I didn't suggest she chould not post on AAWA topics if she chose to though.(underline mine) "I am surprised and disappointed in the nature of her resignation. I think it was probably orchestrated somewhat and the 'reasoning' is a little twisted and confusing IMO but it is what it is and we move on. JWN will thrive I'm sure. It's always been bigger than any individual moderator or any site owner, it's the sum of all the people on it who come together to make it what it is.

  The same way I am convincing my 18 year old college softmore daughter, (cranking away and has thirty units ahead of schedule) graduated at 15 1/2 from High School (Math and Chemistry just like Billy the Bethelite).

  How to Take Down the AAWA! (For those that have been hurt by that org)

  (if you're tired of aawa threads, please be aware, this is an aawa thread.).

  sadly - there are people who have been negatively affected by the aawa, and like other organizations, the aawa made protecting it's name and reputation a priority over helping and protecting the people it should have been trying to help.

  like other organizations, they won't discuss the issues publicly with the community, insisting instead on discussions behind closed doors and "getting the names" of people expressing concerns.. .

  "hint of lime" does this debacle remind you of Carl O' Johann's kindly talking to the Watchtower about 607 B.C.E. and getting destroyed for making recommendations to the King Pinns of the Organization?

  Betsey was "Carl O' Johan" and AAWA Management was the Governing Body who hated the bearer of bad news! Just my strange analogy, I wish all this madness never happened and everyone was on one side of the fight. Our in fighting is fueling all the pro-GB members pseudo-unity tanks, AAWA need's to fire a few people and restart their Organization!

  Question for Elders... Will Refusing to meet with Elders - Avoid Disfellowshipping?

  does anyone know if this strategy will work to avoid being disfellowshipped?

  if one moves their card from one hall to another before a "wrongdoing" becomes public - and then refuses to meet with the elders at the new hall - will they simply be able to fade away without being disfellowshipped.

  i had heard that if you refuse to meet with the elders, they generally will not df you - in order to avoid possible legal issues.

  No, if you refuse to meet we can disfellowship or delete your membership from the rolls. Ray Franz and Sue H. was disfellowshiped for refusing to meet with a Kangeroo or Star-Chambered JC. Say you are having a nervous breakdown right now and meeting with them could cause you great emotional harm. Your doctor,psychologist, psychiatrist said you are to keep everything at a minimum stress level now and you will meet once your doctors have gotten you balanced. You can go after legally if they persist in harrassing you, there is a way to draw this out a long time, you must play their game to do it.
