hi, i caught the scripture in acts 17:10-12 on the jews who checked the holy scriptures to make sure paul and silas were not lying.

my new medication is making my head a bit fuzzy and i can't find the link you provided.

sleep alludes me often at night so i am taking ambien and valium to sleep or get to be before 2:30 am before i wake up back at 5am for work.. .

there has been some progress in the illinois legislature in passing legislation (civil and criminal) to eliminate the statute of limitations for sexually abusing children.. hb1063 is the criminal bill.. sb1399 is the civil bill.. it's been a long struggle and it's not over.

i think you pissed off the elder who gave the reporter the grand tour of the Assembly Hall.

The attacks against those who leave the Borg are Ad-Hominens and do not deserve a reply. he did lie about "family" or did he tell a 'half-truth" which is worse than a lie?

He looked like some of the fat greaser elders who were too busy eating to take care of the Flock. Poor humor on my part, I don't like the way he dismissed any of the claims without facts to refute the JW Dissidents.

DCMShirly, that 1967 Watchtower say's it all, "We have brothers who do all your research, you don't need to do it!" JWs are too busy to dig deep into the truth of the Bible, let's rely on men who have a long line wrecked homes, poverty strictened families and disappointing people for 140 years. What's the talk about 2034, they are trying to put the '120 years" untop of the 1914 doctrine from Genesis when God said he would get the lifespan under 120 years. Why don't they shut up, why bring up 2034 and say 2014 is the "count-down year!". They make me sick, they are false prophets or false teachers and won't fess up to the fibs they tell.

I might be wrong but I thought during the Apostate Talk 2013 D-Convention they had to nerve to talk about the 1978-1981 Witch Hunt. Now with all those brothers dead, they feel safe enough to bring this up because they think nobody knows the real reason we lost Ray Franz and Ed Dunlap and many others who refused to worship the Governing Body.

Thank you "Don't call me Shirley", for your patience. I once thought I use to know things about the Bible until I began to visit JWN and found some ex-JWs debating others on the internet with people from Tetragrammaton.Org. That's when it hit me, I was just parroting Watchtower proof-texts, thank you dear DCMShirley for your patience. I am trying to learn and one day I hope to be like a Leolia or a junior Greg Stafford (whether you agree with him or not, he is one hell of a Bible Student and a very smart Witness of Jah.) I trust Greg because of his honesty to change from the Watchtower after trying his best to help them have dialogue.

We have some good scholars on this board, Lars58, Blondie, MarvinShillmer, Leolia, Tammy, and you DNCMShirley! Thanks! Bobcat and Sebastian and others that are slipping my mind. Sorry if I did not post your name, know you are not forgotten as a great scholar whether you are atheist to theist or in-between, I have learned to respect all points of view as long as they are not some rabid angry hateful group of people like the Organization with their anti-Apostate hatred speech!

The other link I was looking for was the article in the Watchtower where we are told "The GB has been studying scholarly books, so we dont need to, just focus on "proof text" and don't worry about knowing the Bible. Thank you for your help, fuzzy minds are not fun to study with at night!

Are you really an Apostate, according to the WT ?

perusing the coverage of the 2013 dc spewings about apostates, the wt claims that apostates are "liars" and speak "twisted things".

this is their definition of apostates.. now, the reality is that sites such as paul's excellent jwfacts.com, books like coc and isocf, by ray franz, the works of olaf jonsson, penton and others, all write what is true !.

we are careful on here to present that which is true, at least i hope we are !.

Nobody is a apostate according to the Bible, using the Watchtower's definition of a "Apostate", Ray Franz brilliantly demonstrated the "Prodigal's son" would be a apostate because he did not listen to the man-made traditions of the Watchtowers Scholars of Fame-Shame!

Help me understand why we can translate Jesus or Joshua's name but the Jews hid the name of Jehovah. What is different from the base (YHWH) to a complex name (Joshua later reduced to Jesus over time) and why do they still use the word "Jah" in Revelation?

Joshua is "YHWH is Salvation"? How bad did the Nations abuse the Divine name so they hid the name? I read the books on 2nd Century BC Judaism and the influences of the Greeks, it was a Dark Time for the Jews, was Antioch Epiphanes 4 and his violation of the alter by pouring the blood of a swine on YHWH's alter? Why hide YHWH's real name, was it pre 300 BE or before that, was it the ancient Nations who picked on the JWs when they returned to Jerusalem that started the Jews to hide God's name?

Please help me with this, why can't they translate the base name most of the Hebrew names are derived from. Appreciate your help with my ignorance.
