When i was at Wallkill like 6 years ago, Max Larson had the morning worship and it was about uncleanliness. He went on a long rant about pornography and said the US Branch Committee deals with 2 cases of someone caught viewing internet pornography at Bethel every week, and they were almost always dismissed, so that's about 104 people a year kicked out due to porn.

NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

Jehovah's Witness Church Release Statement
by truthseekeriam in"we are saddened to hear about the death of prince rogers nelson, who was baptized as one of jehovah’s witnesses in 2003," the church said in a statement obtained by people.
the church said that prince "found fulfillment as a witness and in sharing his faith with others.

Even in the 80's, Prince was giving away his money, according to this article with Rolling Stone in 1985 where he said "Money is best spent on someone who needs it... I give a lot of things away, a lot of presents and money."
I am thinking that yes, he must have regularly donated to the Society, especially if he believed his donations were truly helping others (e.g. disaster relief).

Prince could potentially have a JW funeral
by StarTrekAngel inthe question is, are there two credible witnesses to the allegations of overdose?
if i understand correctly from the research into child abuse, the medical diagnosis would not count as a witness.. was he baptized?
what year?.
-

@Athanasius: Can you image Anthony Morris giving the funeral talk? There would be a huge shitstorm. Prince is 100% the opposite of what Morris considers a JW. I don't think Morris could even handle saying Prince's name for fear of tight pants appearing in his mind. -

Proclaimers Book claims anyone can leave the org
by Sanchy inwas going through proclaimers book and found this little nugget on page 232. there is so much wrong with this paragraph that my head almost exploded when i read it.. however, i was thinking, perhaps those like me that are trying to fade away without "trouble", can use this in the case that an elder should start questioning with intent of escalating matters.

This reminds me of how some Witnesses say (in the ministry for example) "Jehovah's Witnesses don't force anyone to become one of them", which I have heard CO's say as well. But we all know that's bullshit and the second someone tells a JW that they don't want to be a JW but just want to learn more about the bible, they will be dropped as a study. There are so many things that are hidden lies in the org. -

There seems to be many jw's marrying outside of org recently.
by atomant inl was wondering if others have noticed this or is just my imagination?my sister whom has always been a fine example of a dub just got married to an outsider was a shock to everyone as no one knew she was dating an outsider.she seems happy.the elders are to shit scared of her to approach her about the matter.

IMO it's been like this for the last 20+ years. Even as a teenager in the 2000s during conventions I can remember looking from the stands down to the ice level of the arena and seeing so many hot young girls with their babies/young kids walking around and no sight of a husband, not even sitting beside a man but instead sitting with their parents. I remember even my parents commenting on this. I sit as high up as I can now and sleep during the conventions but I assume it's still the same. -

@prologos - yes you are right, it was a gypsy, my bad, i think I remember him mentioning "gypsy" now. also yes, i was thinking the same thing about the translation. Bunn spoke quickly and said Shewfelt (Canada branch committee member) was to raise his hand if he was speaking too fast because his talk was also being translated live into French. Well, he never slowed down, and damn could that guy talk fast, i kept thinking of that during his talk that the French congregations will only get like 50% of his talk, and he kept screwing up the bible verses he said he was about to read (e.g. Luke 11:17, but meant Luke 17:11). Bunn looked to be about late 60's to mid 70's.
@wannaexit - a brother from vancouver told me the GB would often visit their conventions quite often. of course, we never, ever saw them in the middle of nowhere in Winnipeg or Alberta
@label licker - yes at the end of his talk Bunn stressed being loyal to the GB, and I think he mentioned it again in his concluding prayer, and how jehovah is entrusting them to lead the JWs. no mention of the royal commission in australia or all the child abuse news that's come out recently.
@stuckinarut2 - no, sadly there was no 10 minute rant on tight pants. next year, maybe.
also, during Jung's part, I felt really bad for the couple(s) that went up to Baker Lake to preach. It was something like -60 degrees celsius and he showed a short video of them waving in front of the Baker Lake sign and the wind was blowing like crazy and there was snow everywhere. They're spending all that time and money (their own money, too) with nothing to be gained, it's just frivolous.

The zone visit talk (now called worldwide headquarters representative visit or something like that) happened yesterday. Some "Brother Bunn" from the Mexico branch gave the talk. Before the talk, Rod Jung, the branch overseer at Canada Bethel, gave an overview of what's being done by the JWs in Canada, including visiting ships at ports in Vancouver. He actually acknowledged those who were forced to give up being special pioneers/bethelites/missionaries who had to return home and basically just said "We love you/thanks for your work" and just left it at that.
He gave some really, really fake sounding experiences to me, like how a refugee from turkey came to canada and was lying to get his permanent residency, but was given it in record time when he openly told the judge he fled Turkey because he killed people/lead a life of crime but because he's studying the bible with JW's blah blah blah he's leading a better life, and for some reason the Judge appreciated his honesty and immediately allowed him to obtain permanent residency. that was an eye roll from me.
For Bethel member numbers, 380 are now at Canada Bethel (I believe they had 450 before the layoffs), and about 900 at Mexico Bethel.
I honestly forget the theme of the talk, it had something to do with being thankful or appreciative or something like that, the guy talked so much it felt like rambling sometimes and I fell asleep for most of it. he gave one experience of somebody who was super opposed to his family joining the witnesses and the guy was having a heart attack, and when the doctor came he gave the guy medicine and a tract, turned out the doctor was a witness too... yeah right.
blah blah blah blah
