Yes I agree Quiet One, I could not handle pretending anymore than the meeting on Sunday. Even that probably has detrimental effects to my mental health. Once you are fully awake, the meetings are almost impossible to handle.

For those faking meeting attendance
by His Excellency infor those of you who are still faking meeting attendance and field service, do you still greet the dubs after the sessions?.
because for me, i am increasingly finding it difficult to showcase any fake smile and pretend everything is allright.
in fact, i'm already getting exhausted with the hypocrisy, i just have to remain in for family reasons.

It's hard, I can relate to your feelings.
I usually head for the door straight after the closing prayer. Like DD said, the majority of JWs are good people who are just captives of a concept. I don't have any problem with the bros or sisters, but find it hard to pretend that I like being there.
I try to arrive just on time and leave straight away. My wife is awake and we are in aggressive fade mode, because we can't do this forever. The family will just have to accept our position whenever it is that we finally stop attending, that is if I don't get DF'd before then.

Off topic slightly, who is the oldest member of the octal pope? From the picture it looks like maybe Guy Pierce.
It will be interesting to see as they die off, if the replacements will all be in thier mid forties like M Sanderson, and how they manage to say that they are still part of the seemingly bottomless pit of the 144000.

Sounds like Caleb's mum is on a slippery slope. It starts with wearing pants at the Kingdom hall, next she will be selling herself on the streets to fund her crack cocaine addiction.
She should have listened and obeyed.

It would need to be appropriately seasoned, and served with vegetables.

Bad chronology - Samuel, Saul and David
by Jeffro inaccording to 1 samuel 13:1, in the oldest hebrew manuscripts, saul ruled for two years (assuming saul actually existed at all, for which there is no hard evidence).
however, various [christian] translators assume this 'must' be an error because acts 13:21 says saul reigned for forty years.
saul's age at 1 samuel 13:1 is conveniently missing from the oldest manuscripts.

Maybe the climate? The Australian aborigines were not circumcised either, so that could present some difficulties for god.

I favor divine manipulation vs. simply coincidence, though.
Yes who doesn't love divine manipulation. Coincidence is dull and boring.
It's great that whenever massive leaps in logic are needed to get over the impossible, that is so often presented in the bible, we just wave the magic divine manipulation miracle wand and ignore the obvious errors and contradictions. It is isn't really a level playing field when believers cry miracle when presented with insurmountable facts.

Why so much sickness!
by Julia Orwell ini never met such a physically and mentally ill group of people outside jws except for at the local hospital or old folks' home.
from chronic fatigue to fibromyalgia to depression to arthritis to kids lacking lustre to heart problems to cancer, bipolar to every co and his wife having food intolerances.... are jehovah's witnesses the most ailing group?
what is your observation?.

I think it just seems that JWs are constantly ill because they whinge and whine and complain all the time about every little thing they suffer in this wicked system that they lament so much.
We need the new system.

preaching work?
by Crazyguy inwe as jw's have always been told by the gb that the preaching work is paramount, they imply that if your not preaching that your not going to make it to the kingdom.
so what scriptures do they use for this idea?
the only one i can think of is the one in matt.

They use a scripture in Romans I think, maybe 10:13, something like 'with the heart one excercises righteousness, with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation'. They also like the blood guilt verses from Eziekiel. I am sure I spelt that wrong.
