  Helping my husband wake up, need advice.

  my husband is dfed but he is a prime example of someone who was a puppet for the watchtower.

  i was able to wake him a little with the sex abuse scandal.

  he was an elder and is very familiar with those rules.

  JWfacts is great.

  I had a positive experience debunking the genesis flood story with my wife, who was believing in God and the bible having been raised a JW.

  Genesis is a good place to start when exposing the illogical WT interpretation of scripture, and rational thinkers will soon abandon the idea of the bible being inspired altogether. The flood myth is such an easy target... worth a shot.

  JWfacts has good info on the flood. Just chip away slowly.

  Also, the obviously silly things in scripture. Samson...basically everything to do with that dude. Jonah... Solomon’s temple.. it’s a comedy. I do love Jewish comedians though, so maybe not for everyone.

  i just had a thought of clarity regarding the jw explanation for this doctrine.

  they explain that satan challenged god regarding his right to rule.

  god failed to prove his right to rule.

  He’s the universal sovereign alright and he’s going to kill everyone and lock Satan up just to prove it.

  Still not convinced, he’ll let Satan out again and double down on the human executions! Thus proving he is the Universal Sovereign!

  scare tactics generating fear of the end is the core message of jehovah's witnesses.predictions based on so-called bible prophecy is their mother's milk.

  "critical times hard to deal with" flavors every book, article,pamphlet and conversation spoken by dub on the doorstep.indeed, all we hear anywhere seems to be bad news.

  are jw's right?can this be put to the test?

  How to deal with struggling with the doctrines

  this is my first post.

  i'm still a jw but am inactive.

  im struggling with the fact that i agree with some of the doctrines (i,e, the stance on the trinity, there is no hell) but i disagree with a lot of things (i,e, men can't have beards, women have to wear skirts).

  austria, a member of the eu since 1995, is a country of 8.8 million people with a muslim population of around 600,000 mostly turkish immigrants.

  in 2015 it passed an 'islam law' prohibiting foreign funding of religious groups and creating a duty for muslim organisations to have 'a positive fundamental view towards state and society'.. many mosques in austria have continued to receive money from turkish muslim organisations so the new right-wing government have decided to enforce the law.

  seven mosques have been identified for closure and 60 imams are to be either deported or refused visas.
